Quick update in terms of who's around here over the weekend. We have tech on call for fixes, and of course various MNHQers will be here to talk, and help wherever we can. Evening again. Above is an updated list of bugs, glitches, general annoyances. Do feel free to send us more detail on any of these - we are passing it all on to The Great Fixers Of Everything. Please note the list here is pretty general, so if your specific 'pictures', for example, concern doesn't appear, please don't think we've missed it off. We've got a more exhaustive list at HQ with all the detail on - to save repeating the entire thread here, this list would just say, for example: 'picture issues'.

BUGS, GLITCHES AND DISLIKES: A ROLLING LIST

Threads I'm On live links in thread titles and topic titles, and restoration of bookmarks as well as speed and functionality on certain devices: will be looked at next week

Bookmarks not working, and threads loading all on one page even when the user has not customised them that way NEW ISSUE - please give us feedback and LET US KNOW WHAT DEVICE, OS AND BROWSER you're using

Words in titles getting broken across lines low priority but on the list

Original post no longer at top of paginated pages low priority but on the list for discussion

Clicked on threads don't change colour will be looked at soon-ish

Lack of navigation at the top of the page - next/previous buttons please keep the feedback coming

No 'm' next to stickied threads in boards other than Active low priority but on the list

Accessibility issues/glaring high priority, will be looked at early next week

Battery use bit baffled - please keep the feedback coming

Ads that flicker or move we're trying to find out if we can block these pre-emptively but for now please report them (mention the brand name or include a screenshot please)

Don't like having to double-tap to get to Active Convos or to reply please keep the feedback coming

Adding top/bottom of page shortcut buttons please keep the feedback coming, but you can navigate to the top of the page via the ellipses/three dots menu at the bottom right of each post

no 'All posts on one page' button please keep the feedback coming, but you can do this via customise under the sub-menu. (NB you must be logged in to see the sub-menu: it's under the downward-pointing chevron under the three main icons in the top right of the page)

No notification that PMs have been sent low priority but on our list

Jumpy switch between portrait and landscape on iOS devices is on our list

Aw! a few morsels of positive feedback!

We know there is a long way to go and a lot of problems but nice to hear that it's even a tad better to use after a couple of days. We're keeping at it, don't worry.

Samsung Galaxy feedback on TIO is added to The List.

Thanks JuniperTisane - we are having some compatibility issues with Nokia Lumias which we are looking into, and we'll add the YouTube problem to The List.

Anyone else having YouTube issues? Particularly if you're not on a Nokia Lumia or a Samsung Galaxy - we'd be interested to know if it's a wider issue.

Icanmakeyouicecream - yes, we agree, it is, ahem.. 'bijou'. It's gone on The List. We'll update you all as soon as there is news on it.

Germgirl - thanks for that info. Useful to know exactly which devices etc are having problems where. This issue is on our list and we're going to look at it next week. Here's in the meantime.

Thanks for the info on moving ads. We'll add them to our list, and also the suggestions re floaty ads.
Also, Kimlo and anyone else having problems with TIO still, could you let us know which device, browser and OS you're using? That'll help us narrow down what the problem is.

There'll be someone looking in on this thread all weekend to keep you up to date with what's happening, what changes we're aiming to make, and also (hopefully) answering your questions. Please bear with us - we're afraid the pace of change won't be so quick over the weekend as it has been today but we are reading every post and keeping notes of everything you bring up to deal with as soon as we can.

Again, just to reiterate what RowanMumsnet said this morning: We know we could have done much, much better in the way we rolled this out and we're extremely sorry that this wasn't handled better.

And, another reminder - to help us improve things as quickly as possible when you report a glitch/something not working/something displaying weirdly PLEASE TELL US:

which DEVICE you're using (iPhone, Galaxy, Blackberry, iPad, Nexus, Kindle Fire etc etc);
which OPERATING SYSTEM you're using (which version of iOS, Chrome, which version of Windows, etc etc); and
which BROWSER you're using (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox etc).

Without this info, we can't do much with the info you give us so PLEASE PLEASE include it, every time you post about something not working (even if you gave the same info earlier on in the thread).

Thanks again for putting up with us while we sort it. We know it's REALLY annoying and we are REALLY grateful.

Just a suggestion

What about a formal feedback function where people can submit specific issues by selection / drop down, including make, OS, browser etc. So you can easily pick out the functional issues from the look & feel type of feedback.

Also, a list of "popular" issues and the status towards resolution so that you don't keep getting complaints about the same thing.

There do seem to be some compatibility problems with Galaxy Aces and Nokia Lumia phones. It's on our list. Apologies

On the geo-location point made earlier on, ShamTech says:

'Neither Mumsnet nor its ad providers make use of the phone's geolocation facilities (gps) and this cannot be done anyway without the user's explicit permission. On sites that do request the user's location from the phone, the user is first asked (in a popup) if they want to allow this so that the location is not revealed to the site without the user's knowledge. The site is not able to bypass this security measure - it is part of the phone operating system and browser.

The ad providers use the IP to do a broad geolocation but that has absolutely zero relation to the device and battery life.'
