seeing who is about

is it possible to see anywhere all those who are 'logged in' - ie chatting - at any one time - I know it is on some message boards. Apologies if this exists already and I just haven't found it. It'd be nice to know who was about at any given time

squirmyworm you know that even if you can see who's about on the other boards users can make themselve invisible. There's an American talk board I post on and 70% of the users choose to be invisible. You never know who may be lurking
