Glad you posted about tech answering a load of people who hadn't posted on thread Twig, I was scrolling up and down wondering where Califrau's post was!

LadyWitchofWaterford · 01/06/2006 20:00

I LIKE the larger text size, fabulous!

Ledodgyherring · 01/06/2006 15:01

I thought it was my computer!

tech · 01/06/2006 15:00

Text size - it's supposed to change if you change your text size preference. It's the only way partially sighted people (or just people who prefer not to get eyestrain) can adjust the text size to suit them. The old way the pages were laid out, Internet Explorer would just ignore that setting, which isn't really fair, as it meant people who need the bigger text can't get it.

Firefox does show the borders in a nicer way (they have the grey still). Firefox is generally more "standards compliant" than IE. Having said that, IE7 comes out soon which may be better than 6 in that respect.

LIZS · 01/06/2006 14:23

Just changed it to medium and it all looks "normal" so fingers crossed , thanks !

Kelly1978 · 01/06/2006 14:11

you could try goign to view and changing the text size. I'm not sure if it is that though, as I fiddled with it and it changed all the text, not just the actual posts.

LIZS · 01/06/2006 14:06

Internet Explorer - what should I chnage ?

Rhubarb · 01/06/2006 14:00

Is there a reason tech has had no sleep? Wink What have you been up to!

Kelly1978 · 01/06/2006 13:58

It is your settings. What browser are you using?

LIZS · 01/06/2006 13:57

The font size of the actual messages is huge now while the headings are normal size. Is it me or has it changed ?

HarpsichordCarrier · 01/06/2006 09:45

Much better. Grin

Kelly1978 · 01/06/2006 09:23

.

more spaced like this, without the full stops to make it work!

.

Kelly1978 · 01/06/2006 09:21

needs spacing below and above the borders of the blue bars. Quite like the borders tho.

nailpolish · 01/06/2006 09:20

why have you outlined the blue boxes?????

dont like change Blush

tech · 01/06/2006 09:19

I've put extra space in above the blue boxes. Is that what people are saying is squashed. I thought you meant the actual letters were running together (other thread).

Is it better now?

tech · 01/06/2006 09:10

Did it used to have a space there? We can put one in I would think.

Twiglett · 01/06/2006 09:02

thanks tech

am dying to say if you need server space we could just boot off all the dull people .. but I won't Wink Grin

Sorry - posted on the wrong thread. I'll look into putting a hard return before the name bar, but am off for now... zzzzzz.

Twiglett · 01/06/2006 08:43

you must be spacy cos you've just answered a load of people who didn't post on this thread .. mwahahahahahaha

can the 'style sheet' possibly have a hard return after and before the blue name bar .. or is that not going to happen

Changes in the night, la da di dee dee, changes in the night. have that going round my head. should be strangers but whatever. am i bovvered.

Hello. Feeling slightly hysterical due to lack of sleep. Now, mes cheries, in turn:

Californifrau, not so much offensive as lacking a certain modernity. It had to go.

Heavenis, you should be able to change the text size to suit you by doing View, Text Size in your browser. It wouldn't have changed for people on the standard setting (medium) I don't think. maybe yours in on something else.

LGJ, I'm intrigued by your space bar squashing. Could you possibly tell me what browser your are using. (If you are on Internet Explorer, click Help, About internet explorer and there should be a version number shown.)

Suzywong, if you're on a new-ish mac, you shouldn't see any difference really.

For the technos amongst you, all we've done is change the page template to use a style sheet instead of lots of html codes to create the page layout. This makes it easier to maintain the pages, and also speeds up downloads. It does mean however that we are slightly more at the mercy of browser quirlks, so we'd be interested to hear if anyone sees anything odd.

Love,
tech xx
