oh the pod thing - actually he wanted his mother-in-law (my mum) to have one so the kids could play with them and we could have fresh eggs when we visit. she said no!

Hello hello,
No there has yet to be any clarification or statement from GF or her associates as to what the "serious issue" was. We are still "on notice" with regards to legal proceedings against us but for now it's all gone (ominously? Or maybe that's just me - I'm a worrier) quiet.

Just a reference to a mad comment by some Ann Somebody or other who claimed to be connected to GF and did a link to a sweary thread. The implication being that because there was once a thread about swearing on mumsnet, everything else that is posted is invalid.

Me too. It was hard to actually believe it was her. I know she gets a lot of stick everywhere and it must get to her at some point but to be in the public eye and behave like that was astonishing!

I agree martian, the vitriol in those posts was astonishing. However much sympathy one can have with GF's position, she was seriously raving on that thread. I was gobsmacked, frankly.

Having been present the evening of the GF thread I'd just like to say that GF herself was WAY more offensive to evita than evita's original comment was. It all kicked off when there was a huge anti-GF thread in which evita participated once to quote something from a Guardian article on GF. GF took the hump, posted a very threatening post aimed at evita, freaked evita out, she was in touch with MN, posted a massive apology to GF, changed her name and posted for a while with a different name and has now, I believe, disappeared from MN altogether.

GF's behaviour was atrocious. And some of the MNers who posted on GF's thread attacking evita were also out of order, calling her an, ahem, 'genital' equivalent of her name (anyone who read the original will know what I mean). It all got very nasty. I'm not surprised MN pulled the thread.

I think said drunken thread was the first ever to be pulled Shock It caused outrage at the time- how DARE mnet delete an entire thread, snigger.

Moomin, the swearing was a joke, sorry, I was being childish after the complaints about our swearing etc. I think your theory sounds v plausible and it does make me pity Ms Ford. A bit.
