CALLING ALL DAD'S....

A thread was set up yesterday by me as i was just wondering where the DAD'S go to chat on this website??? to introduce dh to it.

It would appear after much chatting that there aren't any threads, but there are dad's out there somewhere!!

Member Molton emailed m.net team...
who said there not sure there are sufficient dads to warrant a section - but they'll discuss it at their next team meeting
see ...
Relationships: Is there a DAD thead section on this website????(29 messages)

So this thread is basically just for Dad's to make themselves known!!! if they want to!!

Or for mum's to try and persuade their partner's to come on and have a chat.

DH says he would join in if there was a section for dads!

intergalacticwalrus · 17/05/2006 20:11

I'm a mum, but I look like a bloke, so do I count?

hub2dee · 17/05/2006 20:08

That's what dw says, trace2 ! LOL

Thanks JanH. Now you point it out like that it is very clear to I what me should be doing. Thank you. Hope you liked the shorts.

trace2 · 17/05/2006 19:56

just told dh about this! and guess what he said,

he can never get on the bloody computer, for a dads threadGrin

JanH · 17/05/2006 19:50

Hi, hub!

To check whether it should be me or I, you remove the other (first-named) person and see if it still sounds right - eg in your lemon-drizzle keep (sorry) example, without "dw and" the sentence would read "she baked a lemon-drizzle whatever for I"...

Geddit?

hub2dee · 17/05/2006 18:10

Zippiti: Erm... what about street fighting ? We need a section for street fighting and happy slapping discussions / exploits, dangerous driving / speeding raves etc. etc.

LOL.

JanH - could you elaborate on the grammatical rules re: me / I ? I will put on my tie and shorts.

A section for dads (I inverted that to avoid placing an apostrophe) gets mooted every now and then. I think the idea might be better than the reality of it IYSWIM, but then again it might make a welcome 'first port of call' to men discovering MN...

giddy - We made the shortlist but no one dropped out of the allocated plots... so we're not going. I am frankly relieved, but still a bit miffed we didn't make it. Not bad for a first try though.

Tamba - what about your spelling ? (grammer) Grin

If men really wanted their own board then they could ask for it..as they haven't presumably they aren't interested or can't be bothered Smile..I can't think of many topics which are not unisex..other than men's health

Oi, hub:

"People: She baked a lemon drizzle keep for dw and I"

I think you'll find you really wanted to write "dw and me".

A woman went to her doctor for a follow-up visit after the doctor had prescribed testosterone . She was a little worried about some of the side effects she was experiencing.
"Doctor, the hormones you've been giving me have really helped, but I'm afraid that you're giving me too much. I've started growing hair in places that I've never grown hair before."
The doctor reassured her, "A little hair growth is a perfectly normal side effect of testosterone. Just where has this hair appeared?"

"On my testicles, which is something else I want to talk to you about" replied the lady.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 17/05/2006 15:52

I know (hangs head in saintly shame).

Then again, the StG name is so far from the real me that I am allowed lapses.

hub2dee · 17/05/2006 15:04

That's one word St. George should really be able to spell, LOL.
