Results are in...

DS passed, but we don't know score yet. He needs a high score to stand a chance as we are out of county - by about 400 metres!

School won't answer phone as they are on an inset day and I NEED to know the scores. Aaaggh.

Doobydoo · 12/10/2009 21:51

QOD....HOPE YOU FIND OUT ASAP[Fingers crossed]

QOD · 12/10/2009 21:21

argh argh argh
DD annouced that her maths book at school has "gone" and she was told to use a sheet of paper..... that means

  1. failed test but HT appeal
  2. passed and comparing her work to someone else who failed
  3. none of the above

LOL

2 other girls who were likely candidates are missing too!

Doobydoo · 11/10/2009 17:46

V Confusing.Ours is 2 papers max score 282.Now we have to wait until March 1st to know which school.Bonkers imo.

QOD · 11/10/2009 15:47

cool!
Ours get scored on 3 papers - i think 114 minimum on each but 2 need to be over 120 - you need to get over 360 in total.
confusing!

Doobydoo · 10/10/2009 22:09

Thanks QOD..The wait is awful.Felt nervous for ds1 today. We got back from town at 2pm and letter was here and he opened it and read it,then took the window of opportunity and went on his WIIHe had a score of 249 for the 2 papers so we are pleased with him a nd so is he!
Good luck to all.xx

QOD · 10/10/2009 21:09

YEAY! Well done doobydoo ds!
Still awaiting here - I want to catch the heads eye.......... but she won't give anything away
Tick tock tick tock.....

Doobydoo · 10/10/2009 13:53

Hope all are ok?
ds1 passed 11+He is very pleased! and so are we.

Doobydoo · 09/10/2009 09:15

Tomorrow for us I think[hope]
Sorry Shellingpeas I hope it works out

ShellingPeas · 05/10/2009 22:16

Anyone had any results yet? We don't get ours until 19th by email and 20th by post.

I'm feeling a little about it at the moment as had parent/teacher consults today and DS's teacher asked if he would be very upset if he didn't pass and whether it would affect his working in class. I know that the Kent results have already been sent to the schools for headteacher appeals (although DS doesn't have the headteacher appeal option as he goes to school out of county), so I am just hoping I'm reading too much into her comment... He needs to have scored at lest 405 out of 420 so I am now seriously wondering why on earth we put ourselves through it in the first place.

This waiting is hell and I have no fingernails left. Urgh!

QOD · 28/09/2009 21:41

Yeah, it's a waiting game now! 19th oct can't come soon enough

Doobydoo · 26/09/2009 21:05

Hope everyone is ok??????????
Such fun waiting isn't it
ds1 is now being home edded and isn't even sure he wants to go to secondary school.Still,it would be nice if he had the option of the Grammar in case he changes his mind.Hope everyone is ok

QOD · 18/09/2009 18:50

dd does the Dover grammar test tomorro, then its ALLLLLLLLLLLLL over bar the waiting!
We get results of Kent one on 19th Oct, but only pass or fail, then get actual score off school

ShellingPeas · 18/09/2009 16:25

Doobydoo - you're lucky getting your results so early. We have to wait until 19th October for ours.

DS sits the real thing tomorrow and (although I know it's so stupid and completely out of my hands now) I am so anxious about it all. I have told DH he has to take DS as I will just get too stressy and pass my anxieties on.

Doobydoo · 18/09/2009 14:19

Hope all are ok.ds1 had his non verb this morning,so now we wait until 10th Oct for results.Glad it is done now...

QOD · 15/09/2009 21:09

well dd did the Verbal & NVR papers today, said NVR was hard, so I dont know how she did.
Maths & English tomorrow.
Good luck too all the rest takig it at the mo

Merle · 08/09/2009 11:13

Well we have turned up at the grammar school this morning ready to take the familiarisation test. We have been told that he is not taking it today as he is SA+ and they are awaiting reports and then an panel will make a decision as to what different arrangements, if any, will be made for him when taking the tests. We don't know when the decision will be made, or when he will take the tests!

I had expected that he would take the actual tests this Friday and next Tuesday and then the (self-imposed) nightmare would be over. But no; this could go on for weeks!

QOD · 07/09/2009 19:33

meh
it's next weeeeek!

Merle · 25/08/2009 22:43

Thanks and to yours. I think they lose sight of why they are doing the practice; to them it seems as if it is going to go on forever, whilst we know that the clock is ticking....

Doobydoo · 25/08/2009 22:36

Well having seen some of the boys and looked at what they do and what they are interested in I think better there than anywhere else [as we can't afford fee paying]
If he wants to go he will do the prep[that's the theory]
We ask him daily but he isn't interested at the moment[for a week and a half]
TBH I will be glad when it's all done with.
Our point is if that he wants to go he needs to put the effort in really and if he dosen't do his best and dosen't get in then not to whinge.Harsh lesson but cannot spend my time nagging about this as he can be quite hard work generally!
Good luck to your ds.

Merle · 25/08/2009 22:32

I bet he'd do really well at a grammar school, then.

Doobydoo · 25/08/2009 22:24

Fine in terms of academia....But had been bullied and is shocked and upset at the pettiness of children in school....random acts of violence like pushing and name calling and tripping people up.All what many people would say is normal but ds1 has found it quite bewildering. Also he has quite high expectations of school and not sure these are being met.

Merle · 25/08/2009 22:18

Has it gone alright since he has been back at school (going off at tangent here)?

Doobydoo · 25/08/2009 22:16

Well not really. He went to school for 2 terms when he was 5 and then we moved to Republic of Ireland[we have been back 5 months]He went to school in Ireland for 2 terms as well but has been home edded in between those times[he will be 10 on Saturday]He started school here in April having been home edded for about 3 years.

Merle · 25/08/2009 22:07

Do you take him out of school when he needs it and them let him go back in?
