checking in! Hope everyone had an amazing summer
DD1 is back in school and happy so far - more subjects are set now so the disruptive kids thankfully arent with her quite so much

We have also had a ASD diagnosis for her over the summer so hoping with things in place we should have a easier ride hopefully

Checking in, thanks for the new thread. DD was back today, and very glad to be back.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 05/09/2024 06:10

Awake at 4.30, up and dressed by 5.30. Think shes looking forward to going back!

longdistanceclaraclara · 04/09/2024 11:59

Dts go back tomorrow. They have no classes together this year which will be strange (but good) for them.

CouldNotStayAway · 04/09/2024 10:59

First day back, ds received his timetable Friday but was then sent a revised version Monday. He's happy with most of the teachers he has except one (allegedly a very strict teacher 🤷🏽‍♀️)

Can't believe 6 weeks have flown by...hope everyone's dc are doing well.

Much excitement here after first day. DD has always been a bit sad that all of her close friends where in the other half of the year... several of them have been moved across, so she has friends in lessons again. She's maintained top set for STEM in the reshuffle and a real shock of Set 2 for English etc... she was expecting 3 or even 4 (of 4)

And her whole tutor group has moved House bizarrely!

Hi.
Irregular poster but find this thread quite comforting so rejoining for new year and will try and post more this year.
Dd is just waiting for final bits of her timetable - and has fingers crossed for her fave history teacher. Endless WhatsApp messages yesterday trying to figure out who was in what groups etc.
She's been moved down to set 2 for Maths, which is not a surprise, her teacher last year hated her 🤔 - hopefully being one of the best at slightly lower level will inspire her. Apparently they still do same exam papers.

@Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky - she's right - yellow JD bags are PE bags of choice here too.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 02/09/2024 18:58

My dd starts Thursday - Y9 is the first year they need to bring pe kit to change into rather than wear it. It's bound to get lost!

She is also stressing that she 'must' have a yellow jd bag to take it in because that's what everyone has.

RosieRiveting · 02/09/2024 16:55

Thanks for the new thread. No timetable has appeared here yet but it'll come.

LetItGoToRuin · 02/09/2024 15:17

Hello and thank you, @CouldNotStayAway!

@PuttingDownRoots your post prompted me to look for DD's new timetable, and it has been published!

Almost all new (to DD) teachers this year, by the looks of it - and PE is conveniently on different days from her instrument lesson / orchestra, which helps slightly with the baggage/bus situation! (I really need to stop being so invested in the minutiae...)

PuttingDownRoots · 02/09/2024 12:06

Signing in
DD enjoying last day of holidays, while her Yr7 sister has her first day.
Checking the app to see if her timetable has been published... still waiting!

And happy as Yr9 means early lunch!
