11 plus support thread for exams 2024

Hi all,
Anyone fancy joining me for for an 11 plus support thread for those yr 5s who are probably just starting a bit of prep now ready to sit exams in September 2024?

State grammar is the angle I'm personally coming from but all welcome no matter if you're applying to private selective, state aptitude tests etc.

This will be my 3rd and final time of going through this and I've found support threads here really useful the previous times.

Lovely to see some activity on this thread again - hope you’re all doing well and fingers crossed for lots of good news on Monday!!

We’re in the fortunate position that we know from DD’s 11+ score that she’ll be offered a place at her preferred school - but that doesn’t mean that the date of 3rd March isn’t burned into my brain!! That’s interesting to hear about maybe being able to login, I was thinking I’d have to wait for an email but wasn’t sure what time that would come.

Sending lots of good luck wishes to those of you for whom this is an anxious wait - not long now and let’s see if we can all cross our fingers together and make the wait a bit more bearable!!

On Applicaa for DS it is saying "Offer status - Offer Made", although I know it's not official until we get the offer from the council!

Does it mean you found the result in your login account tonight already?

@MrsDexter it varies by LA. Some release the offers at/from midnight, and others at the start of the working day. Often they are released in batches throughout the day.

I do remember that our primary class WhatsApp group was going mad with people commenting on their offers, and I was still waiting. Ours came through an hour later.

Sometimes, it is possible to find out via the online account before you get the email.

If you mention which LA you are in, someone in that LA with an older child may comment to let you know when they received their offer.

We are lucky to be almost certain of getting the grammars for DD and DS, but will still feel a lot better once it's official.

Just thought I'd pop back on here to say that DD was successful in the local review for her first choice!

Long wait to March now but we are less than a mile from her first choice school so not too worried. The hardest part is over now.

Hope everyone can now relax a bit until offer day looms!

We have to wait another month to see if the review for DD's first choice is successful but it does help that she has two other Grammars to put on the CAF and 2nd and 3rd!

Yes. Thank you. Group A is the top 180, and his place is guaranteed, which means I don't have to wait nervously till March.

The result has just come from the Blue Coat School Liverpool. Our son is in Group A!
