Calling all parents who’s ds sat the 11+ today... ds said maths was super hard and not the usual questions, he said he couldn’t finish the paper. Wondering if it was the case for the majority or he just had a bad day...

Nothing here. Very nervous. I wonder if rather than alphabetically it’s by school again?! Hope so....
The ones who have had offers....are their schools early in alphabet maybe?! Clutching at straws!!!
Good luck everyone and congrats to those with offers already xx

whyisthisnoteasy · 13/02/2020 10:39

Email. End of alphabet. Good luck everyone !

whyisthisnoteasy · 13/02/2020 10:38

11+ offer for DS. Yay!

Tiredof11plus · 13/02/2020 10:36

Hi Flowerpot... DS is 13+ and there are only 35 places... E-mails also meant to come today... By now I think that DS is probably a “no”... If I was them I would send the “no” letters towards the end of the day so that parents couldn’t call for more info before half term... It’s OK... Life has to go on...

Thank you for your kind words, Didsomeonesay...

Didsomeonesay · 13/02/2020 10:30

Oh my gosh. I’m thinking of you all. I can feel the nerves. I truly hope you all get the answer you’re looking for. It’s such a horrible system.

Thank you, darling... Do you if it was 11+ or 13+, by any chance?

Surbitonlady · 13/02/2020 10:14

Only heard of one. And it was an offer. Second half of alphabet too. So can’t link to that.

Tiredof11plus · 13/02/2020 10:05

TBH, when DS was called for the interview I believe that we were one of the first to hear... So I think that in this case “no news” might be “bad news”... Maybe they are sending the offers today and the “no” tomorrow...? I’m losing hope... Does anyone know if someone has already received a “no” today? Or only offer letters so far this morning...?

somekindofmagic · 13/02/2020 09:47

Shock nothing here either!

Surbitonlady · 13/02/2020 09:43

Apparently emails are already on their way... some have received offers... we have nothing yetConfused

somekindofmagic · 13/02/2020 09:23

Is it D Day or not?! Confused We shall soon find out! 24 hours to go anyway. Good luck all X

TaupeAndTeal · 10/02/2020 06:30

I think we are supposed to find out on the 14th. Some schools will send out letters 1st class on 13th to arrive on the 14th and others will email on the 14th. There is an agreement on this between quite a few of the schools in the area, particularly boys ones.

SW153kids · 09/02/2020 22:55

At the interview the admissions lady said they’d email on Thursday 13th, but in the info they gave us after the exam they said 14th..... so I think definitely email, but am less sure on day!

Tiredof11plus · 08/02/2020 18:49

Good luck to all!!! 😃😃😃💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Sosickoflovesongs · 08/02/2020 15:13

Exactly! What’s another day in the grand scheme of things 😅😅😅?
Good luck all

somekindofmagic · 08/02/2020 14:54

Just saw @Sosickoflovesongs post! Yes I too thought I heard the Admissions lady say email on the 13th but wondered if I’d heard wrong?! Well, 13th or 14th, the wait will soon be over. Hang in there.

somekindofmagic · 08/02/2020 14:50

The head distinctly said there would be no exploding offers. And also I’m pretty sure the Admissions lady said the results would be emailed on Friday 14th Feb, in the first instance. Happy to be corrected on that though!

Tiredof11plus · 08/02/2020 14:12

Ah! And we leave home in order to travel for half term at lunchtime on Friday... What if the post hasn’t arrived?!? Would have to spend another 8 or 9 days holding my breath... And what if there are “exploding offers” this year?!?

Tiredof11plus · 08/02/2020 14:10

I expect that you are right, 1ndig0... There may well be some movement in the WL, but that does mean even more waiting and anxiety... You know, I would probably favor a school that offers DS a place via the main list (rather than WL), just because I really want this to be over... I naively only applied to quite competitive schools, as new in the country, and now utterly regret not having a back up... On the other hand, all schools that we are going for have excellent reputation, so DS will be a lucky boy if he is accepted in any of them. Just really really really do not want to do this all over again while he is in Year 7 or 8 if he doesn’t get a spot now...

Sosickoflovesongs · 08/02/2020 14:07

Hi all! Another anxious waiter!
I don’t mean to start a riot here (😂) but didn’t Hampton say they would email on the 13th and then follow up with a letter on the 14th? Hope I didn’t imagine that!
Good luck to all! X

1ndig0 · 08/02/2020 11:54

It is a long wait, but they all end up somewhere and once they’re in whatever school they’re going to, that’s that and you don’t look back.

Also, Kings accept far more now at 11 plus than they used to five years back, so this may mean more movement for Hampton. Many from Putney, Barnes etc apply to Hampton due to the very limited options for boys in this area, but they don’t really want to be tied into the coach journey for years on end if they can avoid it. So even if it’s a WL place, don’t despair, as I think there always movement.

Frostyskies1223 · 08/02/2020 11:42

@TaupeAndTeal , you will have an idea from the size of the envelope. Plus if it's a yes you may want to get on and find out the date of the "open morning for offers" & book your spot & book time of work etc, it's never ending! Or if it's waiting list you can work out what you are going to do re any other option that will want payment by 3rd March.

TaupeAndTeal · 08/02/2020 11:41

Very true 1ndig0. I think I'm overthinking it anyway. It's just been such a looong wait.

1ndig0 · 08/02/2020 11:39

Taupe - it will be obvious from the size and weight if the envelope anyway, so you may as well wait for DS if it’s a large one. Or use a torch Grin

Good luck to all! I remember it well. My DS went through this some years back. We thought Hampton was fantastic, though he didn’t fancy the coach and went co-ed to LU in the end.
