Calling all parents who’s ds sat the 11+ today... ds said maths was super hard and not the usual questions, he said he couldn’t finish the paper. Wondering if it was the case for the majority or he just had a bad day...

I think @lifeistnotagame is correct. Going by the 10+ process which DS sat in 2018.... we received the 'no' email well in advance of the official confirmation/offer letter day (which this year for the 11+ is mid Feb) and I believe these yes and no interview emails all went at the same time as there were lots of people in both camps reporting back on the threads at the same time. So in actual fact, hopefully not too long for us all to wait as interviews commence this Friday. Hang in there!

Sosickoflovesongs · 13/01/2020 14:43

I hope so! I agree. Better to know!

lifeisnotagame · 13/01/2020 14:37

I think they will let no's know before mid February as people will get to hear others being called for interview. A nice thing to do and saves the school from getting inundated with calls from parents who haven't heard!

Sosickoflovesongs · 13/01/2020 14:21

Yes I think that’s the case. Email about the interview, yes or no. It could be though that if it’s a no you don’t hear until the official end date in mid feb, and only get an email if you have an interview. I’ve heard boys from the same school are notified together. Calls were only for scholarship interviews and done early as @lifeisnotagame said X

lifeisnotagame · 13/01/2020 14:17

I think email whether it's an interview or not as there will be a lot of boys in either group. They only called scholarship candidates as they need to get them in quick and not as many.

mummy2aPrince09 · 13/01/2020 14:01

Am I right to think that if it’s a no call back you’ll get an email and if it’s an interview it’s going to be a phone call? Very stressed about the whole situation....

Hi everyone!
I’ve been following this thread too With interest. Thanks for setting it up. It’s a nerve wracking time and it’s nice to support each other!
My DS sat Harrodian, Kew House, Hampton, Latymer, KCS and is doing Emanuel on Friday.
The feedback you’ve all mentioned sounds totally like what he has said. He said that Latymer was very tough, Hampton maths and reasoning was tough and he missed out some questions, and KCS was actually ok and better than expected. Kew and Harrodian were fine.
Favourites are Hampton and KCS. Am nervously waiting for news about Hampton as KCS was only on Saturday. Not heard anything yet. Has anyone else?
Good luck to you all! X

lifeisnotagame · 13/01/2020 11:58

Morning all. Any news for anyone?!

R272727 · 13/01/2020 07:12

Hi anyone taken kcs and RGS as well as Hampton how did your DS find the papawrs in comparison?

SW153kids · 12/01/2020 10:55

*@ripple11 I’d agree with all that- I try not to ask, though!

ripple11 · 12/01/2020 10:06

@anewdecade Well done on the 10+ place.
DS did those 3. St'Pauls most difficult, followed by Hampton (reasoning especially tricky ) and then KCS yesterday( Maths "certainly easiest of the 3"). He didn't run out of time on any paper, so that's something!

Ami01 · 11/01/2020 23:01

Yes thanks and well done @kingstonmum2020 , good luck to your son.

Nervous few days for us all!

SW153kids · 11/01/2020 21:51

Thanks Kingstonmum2020, and well done! Nervous times!

lifeisnotagame · 11/01/2020 18:24

Well done, Kingstonmum2020, and thank you for letting us know. Good things are moving. Finger crossed the boy you know, ripple11 gets one too.

anewdecade · 11/01/2020 17:33

Well done Kingstonmum2020 's DS! I have been lurking!
DS has done KCS, St Paul's and Hampton- wondering how other DS's found them in comparison to each other if they did them.
We are lucky as DS got a 10+ Hampton place last year but we live sort of in the middle of all 3 so gave the others a go as journey is slightly easier although all fairly similar.

ripple11 · 11/01/2020 17:21

@Kingstonmum2020 great news, well done to your son.

Kingstonmum2020 · 11/01/2020 17:06

Hi - we had a call about an academic scholarship (11+) late afternoon yesterday. Surname is pretty close to the end so wonder if they are doing them in alphabetical order. Hope that helps. Good luck everyone - it’s a stressful process

Contessa28 · 11/01/2020 16:17

Good luck to your DS .... if it helps any I remember it was pretty much the latest date by which we heard about interviews. No news is good news! Good luck!!

ripple11 · 11/01/2020 15:28

Nothing here so far.......also SPS have delayed results from Monday to Thursday next week....must be busy out there in 11+ marking world!

summerissooncoming · 11/01/2020 15:22

@SW135kids we are not expecting scholarship but will be nice to get just the interview email. I haven't heard anyone get in my group. Will be nice to know if anyone on here got it. Whatever be the outcome all the boys who went through it are winners and well done for all the hard work 👍.

SW153kids · 11/01/2020 14:19

Has anyone heard on scholarship interviews yet? I’m not really expecting it, but would nonetheless like to know those calls have been made so I can stop jumping every time my phone rings!!

Mumintherain · 11/01/2020 13:06

We are also waiting for interview letters. 🤞🤞🤞

ripple11 · 10/01/2020 14:50

@silverstorms ..... oh my god, we sat SPS and our surname is Zzaman.
I go to bed at 10pm Wink

summerissooncoming · 10/01/2020 14:33

Hello All,

We are waiting for the interview email too. My DS is unfazed, but I am so tensed. Hope to get the interview email.

silverstorms · 10/01/2020 13:26

God, just reading this reminds me of the wait for the SPGS interviews In that case, the recall emails were sent out alphabetically, by one woman in one day. 200 emails. So those whose surnames began with “W” had given up by 6pm - but then it came.

I don’t know why they don’t just give parents a given day or time. Do they not realise that the uncertainly as to how / when you hear just adds to a process that’s stressful enough as it is?
