Uniform Blazer pocket doesnt fit logo badge

Where should I sew it.

DH suggested opposite side of the pocket (where there is no pocket).
I'm thinking one of the lower pockets where the badge does fit.

It just needs the badge on the blazer, the notes do not specify where, but it really doesnt fit the top blazer pocket where it would normally go.

God buy the poor kid the proper blazer! He’s going to stand out like a sore thumb with a make do job. Yes they sell the badges separately but no one actually does that.

Fruityb · 01/09/2019 18:16

So you bought him a blazer that’s not the uniform issue one and are now saying you won’t put the badge on it will put it in the wrong place?

My mum used to do this to me and never ever understood how hard and upsetting it was at school when you stuck out from everyone else. My trousers were always too short, I had creases ironed in them when no other girl did, she bought me a cardigan I’d have worn at primary school when going into year 9....

You can’t complain it won’t fit when it’s the wrong one! Absolutely do not sew it in the wrong place or not at all - everyone will notice.

Do you know any other parents at the school you can ask. I would have gone with school blazer, I'm sure that is what most parents do

legalseagull · 01/09/2019 18:15

Unpick the pocket and sew it where the pocket used to be

IDontBelieveYou · 01/09/2019 18:15

Getting a different blazer is so not a good idea. My kids blazers are shite too but a different blazer is just asking for negative attention.

Faultymain5 · 01/09/2019 18:15

Well it cant be the same as the school shop sells as the school shop blazer comes with it embroidered on. I'm not changing everything at this stage unfortunately. Thanks all for your suggestions of removing the pocket, think that is the most likely move.

Blazers are so expensive, but if cared for will see them through a few years. They don't grow so much in secondary school. I'd be inclined to stump up for a proper blazer.

IrregularCommentary · 01/09/2019 18:10

It's not standard if it's not the same as the school shop sell, and you can't fit the logo in the same place all the other kids have theirs.

Just get him the proper one ffs.

Faultymain5 · 01/09/2019 18:10

@ponderingpanda. Yes you are. which is why the sell the badge separately.

@littleducks et all, an M&S blazer is not random. It's standard, the freaking badge is not. I'm tempted to leave it off.

Did you buy him the wrong blazer because you didn’t like the school ones?

PonderingPanda · 01/09/2019 18:05

OP - are you actually allowed to get a different blazer to what the uniform shop sells?

IWantMyHatBack · 01/09/2019 18:05

Oh fgs, you bought a different blazer? Just get one from the school shop

Faultymain5 · 01/09/2019 18:04

There is one picture on the website 3 kids and no view of blazersConfused

IWantMyHatBack · 01/09/2019 18:03

Just look at the pictures on the school website and work it out. There will be ones of kids in the uniform.

Don't put it in the wrong place, that's just weird and bizarre

JoceHark · 01/09/2019 18:03

Mate

Seriously, do not land your kid with a blazer that makes him stick out like a sore thumb.

I was a bloody sod in school and I can think of ten names he will have been called by the end of assembly. Why the fuck would you go rogue and buy a blazer because you 'don't like the navy' on the other one. Its not you thats going to be called blazer wanker for the next five years.

I knew a kid who was picked on every day because he had a weird shaped freckle. You're handing him to them on a plate

littleducks · 01/09/2019 18:01

I think you need to rethink blazer decision.

SavoyCabbage · 01/09/2019 18:00

Taking the pocket off is a good idea.

PonderingPanda · 01/09/2019 18:00

Surely the uniform shop blazer colour is the correct one and school won't accept yours. I know DS school wouldn't accept anything other then correct school uniform - style and colour

MarigoldGlove · 01/09/2019 17:59

Well neither of those as you want your child to look the same as everyone else. Not different with the school badge melting down the blazer or on the wrong side but with the perfect colour navy blazer.

Knittedfairies · 01/09/2019 17:58

Can you take the pocket off?

PonderingPanda · 01/09/2019 17:58

@Faultymain5 - so did you buy a random blazer and hope it matches?

Faultymain5 · 01/09/2019 17:56

They probably won't be in the same boat, if they all bought from the school shop with the logo already embroidered. I couldn't, the material was awful and the colour wasnt quite navy and it was obvious against the rest of the navy uniform. So choices are opposite breast pocket or lower pocket.

cheeseandcrackers · 01/09/2019 17:56

I think you have to do whatever everyone else does, you must all have the same problem. Definitely not lower down. I'd see over the pocket rather than place the badge somewhere odd

CupoTeap · 01/09/2019 17:55

Look at the school website?
