DS has nothing till Weds afternoon, and almost all his friends are finished.

Away for the weekend, then a single subject to cram (hasn't done too well in the other elements of this MFL, so ground needs to be made up)

DS still has chemistry, History and Physics to go next week. He's doing biology right now and I'm waiting for him to come and give me a run down. He comes in, blurts it all out, eats and then crashes.

Most of his year group are meeting at the park for a celebration on Tuesday but he has physics on Wednesday (top 25% do triple) so is having a bit of a sulk about that!

Prom is on the 11th of July and then the long wait for results. I can't wait for it all to be over.

LittleHo · 16/06/2017 10:00

I've been lucky this time around with ds. dd3 is stressed with A Levels. and one of my older dd's was very stressed through exams but ds has been cool as a cucumber. Considering everything else that has happened this is very fortunate.

Only German GCSE went worse than expected. The weird Edexcel maths paper may have cost him a grade but that isn't the end of the world and it depends on grade boundaries.

So many of his friends are extremely stressed and tired. I think the system is crazy.

Last day here too yaaaay! Motivation down to the ground, DS out to celebrate with friends after, not sure where, if he's burning his blazer I know he's been around Laniakea's Grin

Ontopofthesunset · 16/06/2017 09:27

Last exam today too, also IGCSE Physics. Very little oomph left in him and even my nagging resources have dried up. Good luck to everyone's children, both those who finish today and especially those who have more exams next week.

Snowchaser · 16/06/2017 09:18

Last exam here too. IGCSE physics. Greek yesterday until 10am and he slept the rest of the day. Planning on doing same again today. Never seen DS so exhausted. Good luck everyone and thanks for helping keep me sane over the last 5 weeks.

Quadratilla · 16/06/2017 09:16

Last exam today. Physics obviously. As others have said, motivation has evaporated. Huge bag of books to return after the exam. Great photo Dingit - I might get a slap if I try that Grin. Even the blazer has been abandoned today. She is beyond caring.

pointythings · 16/06/2017 09:09

I'm here until Friday too. Prom on the 7th. And then we can reconvene here on August 24th

AtiaoftheJulii · 16/06/2017 08:59

Good luck and YAY for those who finish today!

Ds has OCR Gateway Biology today - I'm here until Wednesday Grin

DD has OCR 21st Century physics - she's really tired and you can see it in her face. She still has three exams next week. Just seen someone taking a photo of two Year 11 boys up the road who've walked to school every day since Year 7 - things won't be the same again.

Good luck to all of those who finish this week. Let us know how they all do in August and where they move onto.

Laniakea · 16/06/2017 08:26

aww Dingit that's lovely :)

Congrats to everyone who is finishing today!

DD has p2/p3 ... I'd say motivation has 100% evaporated. At the start of the exams she was all I'm aiming for full UMS in physics (she managed it in the mocks & her ISA) last night it was 'meh, I only need a B'. I wish we could personalise the timetable so we had the important ones (for her) near the beginning & finished up with French & geography or something!

Still, last day, freedom beckons. I have a bunch of kids due back here ... they are going to burn their blazers, drink cider & watch power rangers apparently Grin

My poor niece doesn't finish until next Friday ... argh (her birthday too).

dingit · 16/06/2017 08:09

Last exam for ds today, and done a first and last day at school photo.

3 exams!

Giddyaunt18 · 16/06/2017 07:55

She also has 2 exams next week taking her up to Friday which is her prom. The combined anxiety of prom/ dress/Science exam revision is palpable.Roll on Saturday!

Giddyaunt18 · 16/06/2017 07:52

Yes Bert I keep saying this to her, it's a stepping stone to the next stage.

LIZS · 16/06/2017 07:28

Physics here today. She 's planning to go out afterwards as half her group of friends will have finished but she has 3 more. Well done to those who will have completed their marathon, parents and children!

BertrandRussell · 16/06/2017 07:13

The important thing to remember is that so long as they get what they need for the next stage, that's all that matters. A vanishingly tiny number of them will ever need to refer to their GCSE grades again!

Giddyaunt18 · 16/06/2017 07:02

My DD has found quite a few of the exams much harder than mocks and harder than expected. She is predicted A* , A and 9s!!!! She has now started to bargain with herself that a B is ok. This is what we have been saying all along. She has found the exam situation very stressful, has answered a couple of 6 marks questions wrong because she misread the question and gone blank on a couple of Maths questions. I really feel for her that the stress of the day has got to her and possibly meant her grades won't be what she had hoped for.Physics today!!

errorofjudgement · 16/06/2017 07:01

Last day here too. Good luck to everyone and to those with more exams next week.

poisonedbypen · 16/06/2017 06:56

According to the AQA website Applied Science A level is no longer available - I would assume it is the same for other boards, but easy to check.
