Help - best sources of advice on education/career choices Y12?

Help needed for DSD in Y12 who is practical rather then academic and struggling with decisions re college, uni. etc. routes and worry of fees. What about apprenticeships? School unhelpful - focus on what they know and own interest. What are best sources of advice and guidance, on-line - what are best websites - or in person (London area)? Please help!
