so here's the thing, having a major whinge to all daytime idlers out there bless you lol..Smile

Been going on this walking club on and off since 2004, nice people, lovely countryside.. suddenly all this anger comes out of nowhere towards me because I have started for the last 18 months to take a little terrier out with me. Dog needs exercise and I can't own a dog where I'm living so...good arrangement, happy days Smile only one day a week so fine.

Some of these peeps are angry because of perceived minor annoyances due to dog: danger that he might actually look at them while they are pigging out on posh foodie grub (has never happened) shock horror Shock that he might run occasionally and maybe bark at the odd bird or two Confused

All this discontent because their cosy selfish spoilt routine is viewed as being in danger of being disrupted.

What do I do about their attitude please ? Can i ever change it or are they too set in their cosy selfish attitudes ? Its also crazy because the dog is under control at all times and is a really sweet boy Star

Expect many of you have encountered these kinds of attitudes for one reason or another. Fight or walk away ?Angry
cheers Smile

But what have they actually said to you? Have they formally told you not to bring the dog?

blueskyinmarch · 16/03/2017 16:11

I am a daytime idler too. With a dog. If your club is near me I will come on the next walk with my dog? I am in East Scotland so the chances of being nearby are fairly slim but you never know!

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:11

he's a good friend's dog

It doesn't sound as if you even like these people - your posts about them have a nasty, sneering tone.

Maudlinmaud · 16/03/2017 16:08

Whats happening here? Huh?

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:07

i'm saying if walking club consisted of good old salt of the earth working class peeps none of this nasty undercurrents would have happened ...the middle classes somehow aren't as straightforward as vocalising their complaints..

TheMysteriousJackelope · 16/03/2017 16:06

Dogs don't have class. That is reserved for cats and they are all upper class.

Megatherium · 16/03/2017 16:06

Are they daytime idlers because they're available to go on daytime walks organised by this club? Why aren't you a daytime idler then?

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:05

ha ha haa!! no it all went on yesterday and i was sober, maybe should of had a stiff drink at lunch though

NerrSnerr · 16/03/2017 16:02

Did you turn up at the walking group pissed today and they're looking for a polite way to tell you not to come back?

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:00

well one MC said she didn't want the dog looking at her while she scoffed her meal ! Smile that's never happened

Some are 'foodies' hmm..

I'm lost.

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 15:59

the club has always allowed dogs

OP posts:
NerrSnerr · 16/03/2017 15:58

Who in the club is saying you can't bring it? What are their reasons?

Witchend · 16/03/2017 15:58

If no other dogs go, there's probably a reason for it, and you should have checked before bringing one.

if other dogs go without any complaints and you are getting complaints the chances are very high that it's your dog being a problem.
