DS homework to create a poster - every "country" he has come up with isn't a country but a state of some sort. Meltdown this morning for us both - any ideas????

South Africa. It really is a "world in one country".

Good choice! It probably won't be overdone be overdone either. So many of us have thought of Iceland and Costa Rica, that it is likely other kids in the class will rock up with projects on those. This way he is in a category all his own.

Beaches, wine regions, mountains.

Chile - has the Atacama desert, the Andes, a sub-polar zone (Tierra del Fuego), is bordered by ocean, has volcanoes, is on the Ring of Fire, has a lot of seismic activity, has volcanic islands (Easter Island). Fjords and an archipelago in the south.

bojorojo · 13/09/2016 15:26

Peru - Lake Titicaca, Pacific Ocean, Andes, Volcanoes and Canyons, Amazon Basin and rainforest. Similar in Ecuador but an additonal extra is the Galapagos Islands. People are far less likely to do these countries. They have Everything!

slug · 13/09/2016 12:36

New Zealand. Fjords, geothermal areas, mountains, plains, temeprate to sub tropical, offshore islands, volcanos etc

yeOldeTrout · 13/09/2016 11:33

Cannot beat Iceland.

P1nkP0ppy · 13/09/2016 11:25

Costa Rica or one of the Central America countries?
Iceland? Malaysian?

theveryhighlife · 13/09/2016 11:22

Just incase you do go with Brazil (Rio was mentioned) it's sugarloaf mountain in Brazil. Table mountain in in South Africa :)

Needmoresleep · 13/09/2016 11:12

Malaysia. A lot of the internet materal will be in English. Some nice limestone stuff on the peninsular (Batu Caves or Langkawi islands) and some great stuff in Borneo. Mount Kinabalu, Sipadan Island, mangrove swamps etc.

Japan! it stretches far north and south, so goes from temperate to tropical, with volcanoes in between.

TJEckleburg · 13/09/2016 09:24

Iceland.

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 13/09/2016 09:23

Or Indonesia? They have all the above but volcanos too.

Frazzled2207 · 13/09/2016 09:22

Australia is a great example, great barrier reef, kakadu n.p., deserts etc. But someone else in the class will have picked it.
Brazil and Mexico are good too. Tbh most countries have stuff just look at the wikipedia entry.

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 13/09/2016 09:21

Peru - rainforest, desert, mountains, beach Smile

AgainPlease · 13/09/2016 09:20

One of the Caribbean islands was a good suggestion (they are individual countries by the way).

How about Australia? Mountains, tropics, deserts, oceans...
