What cars do private school mums drive?

Is it all 4x4s and Porches? Do any of you drive cars that are not range rover evoques. And if there are mums at your school who drive normal cars, like a Ford Mondeo - what do you think of them?

A huge range. Slightly more 4x4s than average. Only seen somebody arrive in a Lamborghini once.

I remember a car being advertised on the Prep School parents notice board as "suitable for a nanny". Bought by another family as their main family car.

We drive a Honda CRV. There is a huge range of cars at DS's school -Porsches, Mercs, range rovers, a Lotus, a Bentley, a few Jaguars and lots of normal everyday saloon cars. Oh - and lots of Minis. More Minis than anything else possibly!

Entire spectrum of cars from old bangers right on up to chauffeur driven Bentleys. In particular a lilac purple one with gold plate accessories, I kid you not. We drive a very very old but lovable 4x4 (15 years old).

I've always seen the niceness of the cars depreciate as the years go by.

Pre preps - beuatiful luxury cars, then by 6th form, banged up estates etc Grin At a senior level I see far nicer cars in state school car parks.

Vast majority of people have very "normal" cars. One of the mums I chat to occasionally has a ford ka, another a brand new Range, everyone is different, no judgement from anyone.

I live in a private school, so I consider myself uniquely placed to answer your question.

Lots of 4x4s. Loads of 'em. I reckon one in 5 cars in our car park is a 4x4, and a fair few of those are white

Then it's just normal range of family cars, Mondeo's included, with the occasional super-flash set of wheels or banger thrown in for good measure. Lots of people don't have much spare cash once the fees are paid. Know some people without cars at all.

BrockAuLit · 01/09/2015 01:08

Don't have one.

Local private school has the full spectrum, no one cares either
Local state school primary in naive area far more status led by materialism
