Yessssss. Ds confirmed place at Northumbria to study physics. Don't know his grades yet but confirmed on UCAS or whatever. Tears of joy x

Onestep15 · 13/08/2015 08:15

Thanks for the tip about track opening early -checked it and it looks like dd is off to exeter so not so worried about going into school to pick up the results now!

hellsbells99 · 13/08/2015 08:15

DD has got her first choice! They have accepted her with 1 grade lower - she is very happy!

HocusUcas · 13/08/2015 08:11

Littleham
congratulations to your musketeer. Grin

Jellified · 13/08/2015 08:06

Ds son has done it! First choice confirmed on UCAS. Don't know what his grades are yet as school doesn't open until 9.30amGrinGrinGrin

MadameJosephine · 13/08/2015 08:04

Sorry to hear that pol. We ran through this very scenario last night and our plan was to check results and if he'd only missed by a small margin to ask for a priority remark and then ring his firm to let them know. If it was a big margin he said he would ring them and beg!

It is MadameJ!

DH has driven him to school for his grades and then they'll come back to ring the Uni. I've texted him to tell him his Uni is in Clearing for Comp Sci.

This is weird!

GypsyFloss · 13/08/2015 07:57

DD got her firm of Durham. Much relief here! Don't know results yet, off to school shortly and then they're hitting 'Spoons for a boozy breakfast Grin

Oh dear tears here - she's got into her insurance but she desperately wanted her firm. She's going to go in and get her actual results now.

Is there definitely nothing she can do to persuade her firm to accept her? Does the fact that her course is in clearing mean lots of people missed the grades, or they're undersubscribed? Will clearing require lower grades? So many questions - feeling a little confused Confused

MadameJosephine · 13/08/2015 07:54

Horsemad, that's really odd. What time do admissions offices open today? definitely needs a phone call to clarify, it must be driving you nuts

HocusUcas · 13/08/2015 07:53

Ds has made his offer. Good luck to all. Waiting- I hope Durham take him Flowers

Horsemad · 13/08/2015 07:49

Even weirder, DS's firm are in Clearing for Comp Sci!!!
Is it a mistake do you think? Could they have typed Chem instead of Comp Sci?

Didn't expect this!

Raidne · 13/08/2015 07:47

Oh my, DS is going to UCL!!!!! He is so happy! Congratulations to all the dc who have worked so hard.

NorksAreMessy · 13/08/2015 07:47

DS still fast asleep and showing an infuriating lack of concern or curiosity about his future.
I have been awake sky watching until late and awake early waiting for him to get online.
WHY would he not consider his poor mother in all of this, WHY?
Two days in labour with him clearly set the tone for taking things sloooooooow and coooooooool.
AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH

Decorhate · 13/08/2015 07:47

Dd got her insurance. Off to get her grades soon to see how much she missed the firm by. She is disappointed I know but her insurance is still vv good imo

Redzer · 13/08/2015 07:45

poisonedbypen last year my ds also got emails from his insurance even though he got his firm.

Horsemad · 13/08/2015 07:44

Ironically, Chem was his strongest subject but he went off it and we ended up having a tutor as he's lost so much ground.
He won't do a degree in it!

MadameJosephine · 13/08/2015 07:43

Well done everybody!

Waiting I think Durham are known for keeping 'near misses' waiting for a while before making a decision. I would think an A* in maths would put him in a strong position for computer science though so fingers crossed

Horsemad · 13/08/2015 07:42

He's a bit confused waiting, esp as the conditions are the same for his original offer.
He's just gone to school to get his grades and will ring his firm. He def does NOT want to do Chem!

Acatcalledfluffy · 13/08/2015 07:42

I want to cry. The suspense Sad

Waitingaround · 13/08/2015 07:41

Chemistry?? Does he want to do this? Would have assumed computer science was easier

Horsemad · 13/08/2015 07:40

Get her grades and then ring poisonedbypen.
