Hope that goes well tomorrow, Lynnette, it's good the school is being supportive.

LynetteScavo · 24/04/2015 21:52

We've had a difficult couple of weekd. DS has been too anxious to go in to school on a few daysHmm. School have been brilliant though, saying all the right things (to him and me).

He's going to school tomorrow pm to go over chemistry module 5 whatever that is, bless him.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2015 21:49

Well, at least you don't get thrown out of the house, which is pretty much what our DD did to us when she wanted to practice her German without anyone overhearing! (neither of us speaks it so our presence was of no use merely an inhibition).

TheWordFactory · 24/04/2015 19:10

Thanks HS.

DD's approach is 'no stone unturned'. She prepares to within an inch of her life and then goes over and over it ad nauseum.

Which I can't fault for gumption, effort or ambition. But it's so boring for me!!!! I'm aware that this makes me sound like a very bad person Blush.

HSMMaCM · 24/04/2015 19:07

Good luck with your French Word.

DD's lovely French teacher interviewed her in French today. Afterwards she told her that if she doesn't learn her other French verbal stuff, the interview she secretly recorded could get her a C. DD is visibly relieved.

Ooh and yes to a link to the new perdy dress!

TheWordFactory · 24/04/2015 18:51

Both my two stayed at home today to revise.

I had to leave them to it as I had meetings, plus a two hour return trip in the car (all was not lost I listened to a pretty good audio book). DH and I left them in bed and I must admit that I was a bit sceptical ( I wasn't meant to have to work much during this period!!!!)...but no, DD called me at 8am to say they were up and showered.

When I got home at 4.30pm, they were singing along to Frozen 'let it go, let it go....' but I can see by the notes/scraps of papers/past papers that a day's work has been done.

They're outside bouncing in the trampoline now.

DD has her French oral on Monday so am sure I'll spend tomorrow and Sunday going through it with her. Deep joy Grin.

bigTillyMint · 24/04/2015 17:35

HSM, photo/linkie?!

T&T, it sounds like it went well then!

DD is flopped on the sofa watching bloody Jeremy Kyle again

TeenAndTween · 24/04/2015 16:50

Glad she likes the second attempt HSM

DD had her drama performance on Wed. She is still aching all over from the unaccustomed exercise as they were off timetable all day rehearsing.

HSMMaCM · 24/04/2015 16:46

DD is happy. New prom dress has arrived and she loves it. DH has also taken her to buy a pair of guinea pigs.

We've had a few serious meltdowns over controlled assessments too, especially in French, and speaking exam the worst understandably. ICT CA's have also been a bit of a headache here (understatement!) But think all CA's are finally done now which is something!

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/04/2015 22:04

My dd has always enjoyed her dancing too HSM - think it will be good for her to have that hour of ballet through her exams, especially as it's on a Friday evening

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2015 22:02
Smile

DD had a bit of a shock when she realised that it's 3 days of Art next week and only 2 weeks till they startShock

dingit · 23/04/2015 22:00

Tilly my dd runs too. Wonder if they would all get on well in RL!

HSMMaCM · 23/04/2015 21:49

DD has just finished 2 hours ballet coaching and looks ready to fall straight into bed when we get home. It clears her mind of exams, because it's so physical.

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2015 21:21

Aww! My DD is off out for a run with a friend!

dingit · 23/04/2015 21:18

Dd has just gone to bed, she normally goes after me! ( gone 11pm)

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2015 18:15

Oh your poor DD, HSM - DD had that problem quite a few times and is now so relieved to have them all done. Fingers crossed for her.

SugarPlum, it sounds like you are taking a very sensible approach, fingers crossed for your DD too.

My DD is still at school revising. After 2 nights of doing nothing because of meltdowns at school, it is just as well!

ErrolTheDragon · 23/04/2015 17:47

Oh good.

HSMMaCM · 23/04/2015 17:15

She has another chance on Tuesday afternoon.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/04/2015 16:36

Oh dear HSMMaCM Sad - mine completely bottled out of a german speaking CA but was allowed to redo it and did fine. She realised that anything she did manage to say would get marks and they don't really take marks off if you try something and get it wrong. Moderation can lead to grades going up so she should try not to worry about that too much (easy to say, I know).

Littleham · 23/04/2015 16:25

That is a shame HSMMacM. Can she do it again? It is really common for them to have a panic attack for the first one.

HSMMaCM · 23/04/2015 16:22

Study leave starts 1st June

HSMMaCM · 23/04/2015 16:16

I had a chat with her yesterday. She's likely to pass them all and I just told her to do her best and get the best marks she can. Don't think it helped though.
