We seem to have reached the limit on the other one!

DD has Physics today & Maths tomorrow& a tummy bug!!

I'm waiting to ring the school!

sausagedog12 · 12/06/2014 05:32

Last day today! DS has physics and computing. He's been predicted A's or A* in these but has not done as much work as he would have liked and too be honest at this moment in time he doesn't care, he's had enough. I just hope today goes well and he can truly relax then as he deserves it.Grin

Bouncingbeans · 12/06/2014 00:18

Feels like they have been going on so long its like a bad dream that you cant wake up from on some days (and that is just me, not DD!).

2 more to go but she is so exhausted just hope she can keep some momentum up (never really recovered once she lost it in half-term) to do well enough in last maths paper to make up for Monday's disaster.

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 11/06/2014 23:57

Biology and Italian for DS tomorrow. He still has 7 exams, they seem to have been going on forever too.

MorvahRising · 11/06/2014 23:25

Physics tomorrow too. DS seems rather too relaxed about it, which considering he wants to do it at university may not be ideal . . . .

Dd has physics tomorrow - she has let us do some testing with her and seems under control with it. Then maths on Friday and further maths next week - goodness knows what will be happening with that! Dh has been working on one of the past papers since Sunday......Hmm

TweeAintMee · 11/06/2014 22:50

marymoocow - words fail me. (Thinking up some lovely treats for my ds on Friday too now.) Grin

Best1sWest · 11/06/2014 21:57

Drama coursework too.

Best1sWest · 11/06/2014 21:57

Nocomet - Aargh I'd forgotten all about the music theory and the Art coursework! It seems so long ago now. You're absolutely right!

marymoocow · 11/06/2014 21:50

TweeAintMee, I haven't actually informed him of these tasks yet. Thought I'd save it as an end of exam treat on Friday Grin .
Physics tomorrow, maths Friday Smile . Not a lot has been said about the R.E. exam today, I'm leaving well alone.

Nocomet · 11/06/2014 21:45

I'm not sure music and drama had corse work that ran into revision starting and very dyslexia unfriendly exams with lots of random technical terms, foreign instruments and characters to spell.

Media studies was OK. There was one paper question which troubled everyone along the lines of 'make 5 points for each of two arguments' but he seems happy enough.

Just one more to go, Maths paper 2 next Tuesday. Phew.
If seems like it has been a marathon and yet he chose options heavy in coursework (Art, Music, Media) knowing he wasn't 't very good at exams.
DCs taking many subjects without coursework must be almost exhausted by one ( and their parents).

Nocomet · 11/06/2014 21:05

I have an A for History, which I hated and hadn't revised properly. I wrote a whole essay of waffly common sense stuff, because I knew no facts and dates at all.

TweeAintMee · 11/06/2014 20:54

marymoocow - please wave your wand over my son. Can't imagine his face if I suggested these whenever he needs a 'break' from revision. Mind you if he cleaned during all his breaks, the house would be sparkling. Grin

eatyourveg · 11/06/2014 16:07

Just back from school and passed ds's mates walking into town, laughing and swaggering around which made me hopeful philosophy had been a good one. Then got to school and no sign of ds which made me think perhaps it wasn't so good because he must be using every second of his extra time.

Ds eventually appeared, threw himself in the car and said "Thank God its done, can we just go home please?" Says the second half was tougher than the first (his mates only did the first hour for the short course hence the happy smiley faces) and the whole of the second half was "waffling" what he called "common sense stuff" because he didn't know what else to put.Sad

marymoocow · 11/06/2014 15:59

Recovering slowly but surely Nocomet thank youSmile . Hoovering and dusting are on his agenda for next week. Well I've got to fill his time up with somethingGrin . Thinking about an ironing lesson maybe the week afterHmm .

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 11/06/2014 15:14

DS1 has 2 younger siblings so uniform will be 'recycled' here.

Lots of Italian revision today, but we have just nipped out to try and find black shoes for Prom.

Turns out everyone is size 11 and has been buying black shoes. Managed to find some that 'will do' if we don't find anything else.

Nocomet · 11/06/2014 14:25

mary I remember you saying you had to go into hospital, I hope your recovering well.

Tea is going to be a problem when DD1 leaves home, DD2 doesn't like it (and she's not one to do favours unless she gets a share).

Nocomet · 11/06/2014 14:23

DD1 has always had her head screwed on.

Trouble is it took untill she was 14 for her to control the dizzy, socially inept, dyslexic outer layer the world sees. Also it took until late in Y9 for her peers to grow up enough to accept her quirks and all.

Her younger, sociable, more obviously academic younger sister is actually far less confident and far more likely to get stressed by exams and panic.

marymoocow · 11/06/2014 11:06

R.E. philosophy here too this afternoon, and yet equally we are revising for physics tomorrow. Smile The end is in sight. Really proud of whatever he does as he has had to cope with me having major surgery in the middle of it all, and finally learning how to make his mum a decent cup of teaGrin Grin Grin

Best1sWest · 11/06/2014 10:11

DS school uniform will be only fit for the bin I suspect. All his shirts have got paint on them somewhere and he sucks the necks of his jumpers when I am not looking. P E kit will be ok though as he hasn't been able to do that this year due to his back.

eatyourveg · 11/06/2014 10:05

Philosophy here too this afternoon although the revision just seems to be tomorrow's last science paper, can sense a major panic but I'm keeping quiet lest he explodes.

Head of Maths sent home a long table yesterday with a prediction for Fridays paper (edexcel) from the mathswatch people. Not sure how much to trust it despite the obvious caveat, the letter claims they are usually right. Anyone else ever had something similar through?

Dropping off all the uniform today for the second hand shop (lest the colours tie and the school scarf) quite emotional cutting out all the cash nametapes. Found tons of sports socks, where were they all when they were needed?

Marni23 · 11/06/2014 08:59

RS here. Good luck all.
