A piece of A4 paper detailing every subject across the top and the score each by got in each subject in the exam...
On the reverse side the effort grades in the same format ...each boy/ each subject

On the end of each line is the boys position in the class again for effort and attainment.

I could therefore look and see how each child did in each subject - how hard they tried and their position in the class of 25 for both effort and attainment

I agree with custy - I know ds1 would be up at the top (at least in the areas I know about) but I would still feel incredibly uncomfortable with everyone seeing that. I think it's horrible for the children. How old are they NAO?

NotAnOtter · 10/07/2006 20:55

I DID ask him 'why' they went out like this and he did not know....

strangely enough i just asked him if anyone complained and he said no. Should I ? I moaned that racism seemed to go unnoticed only a few weeks ago ....

It is bullying. Institutionalised bullying.

Greensleeves · 10/07/2006 20:50

That's really offensive I'm afraid. I would be kicking up an almighty stink.

Tortington · 10/07/2006 20:48

i think this is completely fucking abhorant. i really really do.

in this scenario my twins - girl would be top three boy would be last

becuase they each have a different skill set. she is academic - he isn't

he lacks onfidence becuase she is miss know it all "i am the best at everything" girl

how will this affect the children - i think its bullying and so very wrong i cant tell you.

seriously, what IS the difference between this and sports day?

Beetroot · 10/07/2006 20:07

ds was told what position he came in his class after his exams. But not where everyone else was

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 10/07/2006 20:03

Blimey I'd definitely complain - even in "1950's" style school in Zimbabwe where reports were very largely based on "position" in the class (top 3 went "up" bottom 3 went "down" in the classes) we never revealed other pupils results to anyone other than their own parents!

donnie · 10/07/2006 20:01

how bizarre - in all my years of teaching I have never seen anything like this!

southeastastra · 09/07/2006 00:10

seriously this is not on, tell the school

Miaou · 09/07/2006 00:10

Golly. Shocked that he got the sheet home, but even more shocked that it wasn't an error which was deffo my first thought!!

Seriously looks like it wasn't thought through. I daresay the parents of Tim NiceButDim will be complaining like heck come Monday

At the grammar school here they never ever get class positions - just mark and grade.

spidermama · 08/07/2006 22:52

Shocking!
I must admit though I'd be fascinated.
