STABBING AND ONLY EXCLUDED! WHY????

My son attends the local senior school where a pupil was stabbed in the back by another pupil last week during a lesson!! Glad to say the pupil stabbed recovered well given the circumstances. THE CHILD WHO DID THE STABBING HAS ONLY BEEN EXCLUDED FOR ONE WEEK!! I find this situation ridiculous because if it was two adults in this situation, one of them would have now been on remand!! The children in the school no longer want this child in the same building and quite frankly I totally agree with them!! Anyone know what the next move will be by the school and how do we get this child permanently removed from the school environment!! What about the safety of all of the other children?? Would you want to enter your work place knowing that someone had done that to someone else and you still had to work with them? What do we as parents have to do to protect our children and I thought that the school had a duty to do that when my child is there? Or am I missing something???!! Anyone any advice!!

He has been dealt with then by Police then if he has been charged. Schools would not double the punishment. It is either a police matter (and he is suitable dealt with in the criminal justice system) or the school can dealt with it in its entirety.

It seems too serious for the school to deal with it seems.

Yes I'd be angry. But the school have to deal with it..... Not you!

Not too specific unfortunately! Yes I think the police are involved because the person was removed by them and the weapon was a double pointed instrument used in technology, he was stabbed in the back!Sorry can't be more helpful. i think that charges have been pressed though. The young person's parents were seriously angry! (Wouldn't you be???)

You could be describing anything from a drawing pin onwards: are you able to be more specific?

OP, please don't drip feed -tell us what was used, what happened and what were the child's injuries?

TheVisitor · 07/02/2011 15:48

I'm surprised the police aren't involved here.

scurryfunge · 07/02/2011 15:47

What was the weapon?

bossboggle · 07/02/2011 15:47

No it was not a pencil it was a piece of metal technology equipment.

The weapon was a piece of school equipment that was sharp enough to do damage to the child. The school have as yet said nothing about it on the website or to the parents, no letters, no nothing!!

Seems rather odd - was it a pencil as a weapon?

What does the school say about it?
