Is everyone on Twitter now?

OP posts:
Eleison · 19/05/2010 09:18

Ha! Very good, onebatmother.

gingercat12 · 19/05/2010 08:42

BIWI I find it slightly surprising that they only made complaints when they knew their will be a new administration. I do not buy into this last minute spending spree. They were in purdah anyway. When I worked in the public sector (I mean I do now, but it is different), we really had to lie low and do next to nothing besides daily operation during purdah.

Sophable Idris Elba is Stringer Bell.

  1. He learnt economics (in The Wire),
  2. is capable of running a huge, complicated and violent organisation and
  3. turn them into profit
  4. and he's got the temper (in Luther).
Sorry to be childish
  1. and he is very photogenic and telegenic.
I cannot believe I missed Omar in CSI.

Onebatmother I like your blog

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/05/2010 08:33

Too true.

So tell me. What's the verdict on what the last government really got up to with their finances? I'm increasingly annoyed about the way it's being reported in the press, that they wantonly and knowingly commissioned spending 'sprees' in the last days of government. Is this really true, or just yet more mis-reporting? (Although front page story on the Guardian as well, talking about civil servants making official complaints, which would suggest there's something in the story.)

And the supposed jokey letters left behind, e.g from Liam Byrne, about having no money left?

I'm disappointed by such behaviour, if it really true.

What think you?

onebatmother · 19/05/2010 08:28

Well with Niles and Frasier we are very much in a 90s groove BIWI

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/05/2010 08:21

Wow! Way to go, onebat!

Ah thanks Soph!

Heathcliffscathy · 19/05/2010 00:01

how can you call something that uses terms like 'catastasis' and 'tropes' lite?

when I wasn't thinking 'what the fuck does that word mean?' I was loving it...nice one!

onebatmother · 18/05/2010 23:47

I just started a blog thingy. First post is about the Milibands (warning: it's, erm, a bit 'lite')

sophable I am following you too with a very similar name.

Just watching last night's Newsnight. But I obviously watched Luther first. I think Idris Elba should lead the Labour party .

Prolesworth You are right. George Osborne was the serial killer in Luther. I should have known.

Heathcliffscathy · 18/05/2010 21:42

thanks for letting me know proles!

Ewe · 18/05/2010 21:37

Well that is totally and utterly excusable, enjoy your take-away, even attempting to cook whilst having to manage and juggle building issues is admirable.

no i've only just come on here, i burnt it because i'm trying to juggle too many bloody building works balls and am afeard of dropping them! it was online payments and searching for wall brackets tonight. grrrr.

Ewe · 18/05/2010 21:25

Did you burn it because you were Mumsnetting too much?! I have you on twitter, my name begins with apple but you follow me too so I guess you have worked out who I am!

I will dig through my books and let you know what I have that is vaguely interesting, a lot of them are very academic texts that I am not sure anyone would want to read for fun!

I have been on a bit of a politics holiday after exams and election but fully intend to get a bit more involved again now. Those of you who joined Labour around election time, have you received membership pack yet?

Heathcliffscathy · 18/05/2010 21:19

two things before i go an catch up on thread...

i just burnt supper. dh gone to get curry. i don't know whether to be pissed off or happy and i'm pretty sure the takeaway option isn't strictly socialist in some way.

secondly, is anyone following me on twitter that is on here but who i have no clue who they are? onebat are you? i think I have you pol.

could you let me know (codedly if necessary).

thanks

Ewe I like the idea, too, but sadly my reading (outside work and the papers) is limited to my time on the metro lately. 20 mins a day . I mainly read picture books with DS now. Or he reads to me more precisely.

policywonk · 18/05/2010 20:45

Sounds good ewe re. book swap. Will send up a smoke signal when I've finished.
