Is everyone on Twitter now?

OP posts:
TDiddy · 14/05/2010 22:20

sophable- that's a bit strong. She has never done anything wrong.

TDiddy · 14/05/2010 22:19

In hindsight, Harriet Harrman wa sthe alternative to Brown that should have been considered.

Heathcliffscathy · 14/05/2010 22:19

i HATE yvette cooper! i can't actually remember why, is she catholic (i am half catholic) but there is something.....wracks brains for reasons...

cinnamontoast · 14/05/2010 22:18

I know there won't be another election for years (well that's the theory), but doesn't Labour need a new leader fairly soon to start the process of renewal and to form an effective opposition? No matter how good Harriet H is, she's just a caretaker, so not a rallying point in the same way as a new leader would be.

TDiddy · 14/05/2010 22:18

Yes Yvette is great but so nice that I suspect that Ed (Balls) would bully her into not running.

Did anyone see Caitlin Moran's Celebrity Watch in the Times today?

I liked her MiliBand of Brothers arf arf.

Ewe · 14/05/2010 22:02

Elephant's breath is lovely though soph!

Ewe · 14/05/2010 22:01

Consider me an official subscriber to your school of thought cinnamon!

Sorry... dragging the intellectual tone down with my talk of toddler sleeping habits, shoes and bags

So, where were we? Can you believe it has only been three days that they have been in power?

cinnamontoast · 14/05/2010 21:59

Good article here giving pros and cons of the two brothers.

Heathcliffscathy · 14/05/2010 21:58

pmsl.

elephant's breath socialism anyone? ffs...i'm a nightmare.

cinnamontoast · 14/05/2010 21:56

I have persuaded myself that being a leftie is not incompatible with liking expensive shoes and bags. It just means you want everyone to have expensive shoes and bags. The Grazia equivalent of champagne socialism.

bananaman
{though I actually quite like David too and could be convinced that he was photoshopped)

Ewe · 14/05/2010 21:52

[I don't think so, but I am currently trying to decide whether to spend my bonus on stupidly overpriced shoes or stupidly overpriced bag. I keep forgetting I hate capitalism!]

ahem.

cinnamontoast · 14/05/2010 21:51

Soph, that is pure Posy Simmonds!

Heathcliffscathy · 14/05/2010 21:47

[can you claim any leftie credentials whilst looking at a farrow and ball colour chart?]

ahem.

Heathcliffscathy · 14/05/2010 21:46

my main plus tdiddy is NOT blairite, not tainted by war (apart from voting obv!) in way that his more photogenic (but somehow snakelike looking) brother is, fantastic webchat on mn (i know!) and an endorsement by roy is good enough for me! more radicalisation (i know coolfonz will laugh, but hey) also sounds very good to me.

can't bear ed balls, but that is based on kneejerk rather than anything else tbh.

and really really mistrust and dislike david milliband.

onebatmother · 14/05/2010 21:46
TDiddy · 14/05/2010 21:43

cinnamontoast - Sorry, I didn't read your banana sentence properly. All clear.

TDiddy · 14/05/2010 21:42

cinnamontoast - all good points. Did you mean David had photo with his banana in his hand?

Ewe · 14/05/2010 21:42

The article I read, where I can't now remember, made it seem like it might be related to something specific as she had booked an appointment to see him at his constituency clinic. Clearly unhinged whichever way you cut it though!

Yes, I am giving up on the pyjama battle, absolutely not worth it and sleeping naked is quite comfy. Hoping that as she has only just quietened down she might sleep in tomorrow.

Tonight I am mainly going to be applying for internships, I know they are necessary but I find it so galling to work for free. I also think they are a contributory factor to why people working in politics tend to be rich, who else can afford to do all that bloody free work!?

cinnamontoast · 14/05/2010 21:40

David definitely considered a Blairite, Ed appeals to all wings of the party, including some of the trade unions. Has hardly put a foot wrong at Environment while David is considered tainted by association with Iraq war, complicit with torture etc. Plus Ed has never been photographed holding a banana afaik.
