sophable- completely agree; Burnham should join a boy band

Quattrocento · 14/05/2010 23:07

Riiiight

So the alternatives that the Labour Party currently have on offer are:

(a) some guy who was complicit in torturing people and waging unnecessary wars
(b) the younger brother of (a) who may not be quite so bad
(c) A Stoke Newington luvvie who rips off the taxpayer with a smile (covers both Balls and Cooper).

Now I'm not a Labour Party member, but you're really going to have to do better than that. Aren't you? Otherwise we're going to have a decade of Tory party rule. Minimum.

That mouthy bloke on HIGNFY. Isn't he a better option?

Heathcliffscathy · 14/05/2010 23:05

my sense of burnham is a massive case of style over substance...

TDiddy · 14/05/2010 23:03

That's complete bollocks, Prolesworth, if you don't mind my saying (glass of wine too many due to accident involving a gift of a winebox, of all things).

See, when we start thinking that all politicians are corrupt, we go down the Berlusconi highway of expecting no better. But in reality, it's absolutely unacceptable.

Look, this woman claims to represent a Yorkshire constituency. She doesn't live there, she never has lived there, she's no emotional connection to ex-miners and the level of deprivation that exists in her constituency. But she's prepared cynically to designate her Yorkshire 'home' as her real home just to make a quick buck.

One of the real tragedies of the election is that they weren't firmly kicked out by the electorate.

Ewe · 14/05/2010 22:54

God knows, I can't see how it can work but it apparently does in other countries that have coalition governments.

Tearing shreds out of each other whilst working together doesn't seem like a good strategy to me but who knows, maybe they will merge into the Liberal Conservative party?

by the way, how are the LibDems gunna campaign at the next election against the Tories. Labour will be rubbing hands together.

taffetacat · 14/05/2010 22:50

ah, great. Yvette Cooper shares name with Yvette Fielding who looks a bit like Ruth Kelly. I remember being pregnant.

OP posts:
TDiddy · 14/05/2010 22:50

well , I am not going defend DC looks. but please YC looks much more feminine than RK !! RK also sounds more masculine.

Ewe · 14/05/2010 22:50

I don't think Yvette Cooper has the monopoly on being parachuted into a safe seat and not giving a toss about her constituency, ditto the expenses stuff.
