Is everyone on Twitter now?

OP posts:

Nearlytoolate- I am concerned that you are another who will leave here to tweet. It's like some alien movie to me....just me and a few others left here.

nearlytoolate · 15/05/2010 22:53

Ah I see we are finally runnign out of steam.
HAve no idea about twitter - is it possible to have multiple accounts with different names? Can you just listen or do you have to think of concise and engaging things to tweet?

TDiddy · 15/05/2010 20:36

Lenin- I will respond on the private school thing.

LadyBlaBlah- good call on Jack Straw. Would have agreed before the election but now I think the TV age is calling for a pip-squeak so Ed Milliband it is. A bit like the media wanted DC instead of Rifkind.

How does one find you on Twitter?

I would really like someone like Jack Straw to run.......a veteran........experienced and I think a dark horse.

Ed Balls:

1)Seems to lack charisma
2)Used to be (thrived on) upstart special adviser in the early days bossing the Treasury officials around
3)Seems as Brown fixer

I love the fact that we can have virtual movement on internet applications. But why is Twitter so much better than MN? Is it the larger membership?

Bucharest- I am no Twitterer so it'll be you and I left alone on this thread.

Eleison · 15/05/2010 18:03

The Fabian speech was attractive - as they say in the press Ed does seem to be a politician 'of the movement' rather than David's 'of government, and he mentions greater party democracy and a v different accomodation with globalisation and the markets.

But I am so ignorant about him, and Labour policy generally, that I don't know how these code terms would translate into action. I hope someone here can say in more details the sorts of party reforms and policy changes he wd be likely to promote. Anyone? Or is it still all up in the air?

monkeysavingexpertdotcom · 15/05/2010 16:58

Need to get back into this thread.
If any of you get a Twitter follower request from/start being followed by a tweeter who sounds like more than one sandwich made from condiment, that's me . It's an old MN name of mine.
Not sure of tweetiquette, but I'm harmless. Honest.

I know - but I've been using Twitter too long now to go back and set up another account using this name!

And it's only my MN people on Twitter who know who I am here.

Great! twittiquette - some people set their profiles so that you have to ask to be able to follow them, then they either accept, reject or block you; others, like me, are just 'available' to follow.

My problem is like my FB problem - marrying up MN names with Twitter or RL names. (At least yours is similar!)

gingercat - I'm following you now (alison)

Bucharest - no danger of us all buggering off and leaving MN - there's no way we could all post using only 140 characters all the time!!

Highlander - yes, we actually had two 7 threads, so 9 is pedantically accurate.

Great mugs - one to put the kitten's "gifts" in, the other for the stuff that gets stuck in the sink drainer. Just the tricky decision of deciding which one for which.

Am considering purchase, purely to see look on evil Tory DH's face as he realises their use.
