I thought there was a large element of truth in it?

It boils down to jealousy, I think. If the right-wing party is said to be populated by the wealthy and privileged and the left-wing parties by the poor and disadvantaged.... then the left will naturally hate the right because of a feeling of being mistreated or looked down upon. 'Class struggle' only happens in an upwards direction....

claig get real and get your facts right.they neither got a majority of votes nor a majority of votes. 1997 wasnt stage managed, it was a genuine sense of relief of after 18 years of tory bollocks. we'll see the same thing next time when the tories get voted out and into the bin of history.

i think you'll find more juvenile statements made against the Conservatives than against Labour, though in actual fact they are both center-right parties.

yes of course, much much more.
you can see the difference by the mob outside Number 10 booing and chanting "Tories Out" when the majority of the people have chosen to vote for the Tories.
You never see mobs like this booing Labour. When Blair took over in 1997, it was all flag waving and cheering, because it was a stage managed event packed full of Labour party workers, something akin to a crowd in North Korea.
