Well, to be honest I actually prefer this to a lib/lab coalition which would not have gone well.

At this rate we can watch from the sidelines as all the tory party spite comes out and we can watch David Davis, William Hague et all torpedo the useless DC from underneath.

I think they will be in power for 5 years. I think the Tories and LibDems will form a good partnership which will bring stability to the country. I hope they put some LibDems in the cabinet.

Nick Clegg has come out of this looking like a prize twat IMO.

Another election before the end of the year with a Conservative majority, that's my prediction.

If Labour have any sense they will let DC deal with the mess and take the flack.

They can spend some time regrouping and decide what thjey really want in respect of PR etc, get a new leader etc.

Better than clinging on to power with promises they don't really want to make.

I'm really surprised.

I was sure that the Libs felt more natual allies of labour, and thought when they started talks with them that it would be a lib-lab government by the end of today.

looks like i was wrong.

I dont think it will last, and we will have another election in less than 1 year.

Someone told me today that a local Tory councillor, like the UKIP chap, spent election day in hospital. Someone had placed a strategic rubber duck on top of a Conservative hoarding for the candidate lined up to take over from Sir Peter 'Duckhouse' Viggers. The councillor saw 'red', climbed up to remove it, and fell onto some railings. Terrible accident but probably also a strange metaphor for peculiar times.

My heart sinks at the thought of Cameron.

I think the libs and tories will have some kind of falling out at some point (the libverals being lily livered and feeble minded as they are).

Conservative will then rule with a minority.

I then fear that we will go to an election in a short while, but the british electorate will be so sick of the whole thing, and so befuddled about PR (after the RW press emphasises how change is not a good thing) that the tories will probably be voted in with a comfortable majority.

GetOrfMoiLand: me too, and while a floating voter would consider myself more closely aligned to Lib Dem. I'd actually find it rather amusing if, after all this, he was left out in the cold and Tories formed a minority government.

No announcement as such, but the talks between labour and the lib dems are over and packed bags are being taken out of number 10.
