Oooh, I asked a question about the meerkats on the other thread. Will be interesting to see the answers, I truly do not understand the preconception that the Markets will not wait.

Or is it just that the posters who are going on about the meerkats work in the city/are married to men who work in the city and are brainwashed into meerkat worship?

I have to say I admire those of you who have stepped out of this lovely comfort zone and participated elsewhere. I'm way too much of a wuss. I couldn't resist the urge to have a go at Mandelson last night, but other than that I've kept schtum in a scaredy-cat sort of way.

Then hopefully PR gets put in and we have an election and this time everyone is ready for the concept of partnerships/coalitions/a little while to decide what's happening etc.

I agree with someone's post earlier about labour bungling it with stuff like ID cards. And of course the Iraq war which is when they lost my support. They have been in a long time and if I'm honest I feel like a change. Just not a change to the tories.

I'm with MMeLindt - I want to love the idea of Lib/Lab, but increasingly I worry that it's untenable and will fall over and then Labour will be screwed for the foreseeable. Blunkett was on Today this morning saying pretty much that. But the way I am at the moment I agree with everything anyone says.

I had a friend on the phone last night telling me he wanted a new party to rise from the ashes of all this - somewhere between Old Labour and the SWP. I nearly agreed with him, FFS. I must get my head together.

Best way to find your feet on Twitter is to follow someone you know and work from there. I am mmelindor so search for me then have a look at the people I follow. Once you have a few folk on your follow list, you can expand from there.

Sometimes someone will RT retweet a post from another poster, and I will have a look at that person and perhaps follow them.

To refer to another poster use @ (eg. @mmelindor) - which everyone will see and to write only to them write D (for Direct Message)

Do download Tweetdeck, it makes it MUCH easier.

I had to turn 5Live off this morning before I contracted Marketitis.

I liked the right wing talking this morning of the left parties forming a "rainbow alliance of the defeated"

I hope that's what they call it, I think it would appeal to the British sense of irony. In fact, it's a bit like Pop Idol - The Tories are Hear'say - they technically won, but the others band together to make something more successful! The lefty rainbow alliance in Liberty X!

I am supposed to be an intelligent person. I design aeroplanes. But I can't work out twitter at all. I tried to follow alastair campbell but there were about 5000 of 'em.

I was somewhat taken aback to be the only Labour figure trending on twitter an hour or so after the announcement and the reason - Adam Boulton - was trending all night. Justin Bieber eat your heart out.

Adam gets very touchy at any suggestion that he is anything other than an independent, hugely respected, totally impartial and very important journalist whose personal views never see the light of day, and who works for an organisation that is a superior form of public service than anything the BBC can deliver.

I leave you to make your own judgement what our interview yesterday says about that. I did not have time last night to read the hundreds of comments on here, Facebook and twitter, but the kindest seemed to suggest he needs a rest - we all do - but the bulk seemed to feel his ranting and raving might suggest I had a point, which I made - for me - rather calmly.
