Hope this is ok, I was getting withdrawal symptoms!

I want a lib con too

Can't be arsed with the Tories whinging about 'winning' for the next few years. This way at least we can be safer from sweeping hideous Tory policy.

Nick Clegg is just off the smugometer now

MarionCole · 11/05/2010 14:01

Who thought it would be a good idea to include Letwin in the negotiations?

volatilemeerkats · 11/05/2010 14:01

Not a lone voice, LadyBlaBlah, another JP fan here.

On the AV topic, it sounds similar to the way votes are counted in Australia (apologies if someone has already pointed this out). It seems to work ok, but is balanced by having an upper house elected via PR. It's a more straightforward way of having constituency MPs and a system that takes all votes as being equal.

The downside is that fringe parties, like Family First, are more likely to gain a senate seat and, in the event that the upper house is hung, which it often is, can effectively block the progression of bills through a whole parliamentary term.

It is classic

Compare that to Hamhead's egg throwing incident during the election.......he is such a wuss (or lacking substance)

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 13:50

They showed that clip of him whalloping the egg thrower on TV last night. I could watch it again and again. DH was in stitches.

LadyBlaBlah · 11/05/2010 13:50

I don't think Hambo can take the pressure. He looks remarkably flustered. Hair even looked ruffled

Noone could say that about Gords - he had superhuman resilience

thetoriesaretoast · 11/05/2010 13:50

Cat, that's something I've been wondering. Do people want PR because they support the LibDems or do they support the LibDems because they want PR? Chicken and egg (but no ham).

CatIsSleepy · 11/05/2010 13:48

he's good value Prescott

MarionCole · 11/05/2010 13:47

Love Prezza.

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 13:47

Right. I've gotta go do my own negotiating of a testy coalition at work, actually: any good negotiating tips for me?

I will need to shut up the naysayers and pretend to others that all is well and harmonious, while simultaneously making sure no carve-ups of power are sneaked in by other side: oooh intrigue and doggerel.

LadyBlaBlah · 11/05/2010 13:46

I may be a single voice - but I bloody love John Prescott

He's so funny: making jokes about whether they've switched the mic off

I wonder if less people would vote LD under PR, as there'd be no need for tactical voting

or would more people vote LD?
hmm

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 13:43

hahaha watching streaming News24 at work and Prescott brilliantly combative, including telling a shouting protester to shut up for a bit

You see how versatile it is? Sweet/dry, expensive/QC, apperatif/digestive. It's like the potato of booze.

We need a spell check round here. I'm killing any lurking pedants.

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 13:40

Yes please to klaxxon. It will have to be loud though, if I am to hear it in Switzerland. Or we could ask the Swiss to sound the nuclear klaxxon.

Might cause slight panic in Switzerland though, since there is not a trial run scheduled.

I think that the drink of choice has to be beer. Or babycham.

Beachcomber · 11/05/2010 13:38

MmeLindt you are being quoted and patronised on the why the markets are important thread. I thought you might want to know. I must hide that thread now as it is making my blood pressure rise and I will say things I will regret.

thetoriesaretoast · 11/05/2010 13:36

Blimey, yes, Apple. Would a dry fino do or is that unpatriotic? Will stick with Harvey's Bristol Cream if it's in the national interest.
