Goodness it's hard keeping up with this and trying to work!

I feel a bit like I'm riding a giant swingometer at the moment.

Grateful for the company GOML. Don't suppose you've got a hip flask of something suitably numbing?

I'm actually feeling more depressed than I have done since 3am Friday morning.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 15:08

WHO is admiring Putin fgs?

It is like saying Beria was all right because he launched the Soviet space programme.

Hassled · 11/05/2010 15:08

James the Fucking Succubus .

Hassled · 11/05/2010 15:07

I agree with all of you. I agree with the kidnapping of Rupert, I agree with sherry being a staple, I agree with Paul Mason. Basically I just agree with the most recent things I've heard, even if they're contradictory.

Lenin - are you just back to work post-DS2? Is it going OK?

TSk GOML. Not even in the interest of a strong and stable government?

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:58

Is Conrad Black still in clink? SURELY Murdoch has done something illegal in all these years. Get the NOTW the do a sting operation on him (oh, hang on...)

policywonk · 11/05/2010 14:58

Rupert isn't the problem any more, it's that fucking succubus James.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:57

I am not kidnapping him and having the responsibiluty of actually having to look after the shrivelled shortarsed bastard. And feed him vegemite sandwiches or whatever.

YOU do it

Are you offering GOML? I'll organise a whip round.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:45

The only solution really is to kidnap Rupert Murdoch.

wubblybubbly · 11/05/2010 14:44

The scots, the Irish and the Welsh, but just too difficult for us thicko English it seems.

I wonder why the tories seem to be clamouring for a deal with the lib dems? If they want it so badly, I'm against it . They know that they're in the shit without the deal, yet John Reid and his ilk are handing it to them on a plate.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:44

TheStraits - the point is the Scots didn;t have the Sun, Daily Mail, Times, Telegraph et al telling them that they couldn't cope. Which would be the case if PR was launched wholesale for UK elections.

Beachcomber · 11/05/2010 14:44

Yes greatest danger of Tory minority is that they do nothing major to piss anyone off and then call an election that they will walk with their pots of cash.

Plus Labour will have a new untested leader and will be being blamed by the bloody right wing press for having 'brought the country to its knees' and left the Tories to clear up the mess.

TheStraitsofWTF · 11/05/2010 14:40

It's so weird - the Scottish population took to PR no problem. We have a UK pilot to look at, therefore. So why do people think that the English won't cope?

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:37

I agree with cbeebies level of explanation needed re PR. You really run the risk of (a) people not understanding and therefore not bothering to register their opinion anyway or (b) people hating the idea of change and funny old european style of elections, and sticking to FPTP

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 14:36

That view of Michale Meacher is bang on.

I think tory minority (whilst lib dems wonder round with their fingers up their arses, decision makers they are not) is the best way to go.

I just hope the electorate would not be too terrified of the uncertainty, and in an election in autumn overwhelmingly vote tory. I just hope (pray) that Ham Chops is in such a weak position, that the good old tory spitefulness will rear its braying head and start undermining him (such as David Davis, and a strong and renewed William Hague). Labour can then spend the intervening time renewing itself and strengthening itself for a combined attack at election time (god I sound like I think I am commanding the battle of Stalingrad).
