Hope this is ok, I was getting withdrawal symptoms!

OP posts:

Oh and apparently it was E Mil and Balls who were most unenthusiastic about LibLab coalition talks - both possible leaders of course - thinking it was poisoned chalice?

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 16:02

lol at Tony Blair in a body bag

Urgh Hague now

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 16:01

I reckon it's Tony Blair in a bodybag.

After all, they've wheeled out every other older politician but he hasn't been seen anywhere!

policywonk · 11/05/2010 16:01

Well Jenny/ISNT, was just coming on to post this from Michael Savage:

'Clegg has played this brilliantly. He got AV offer from Tories based on a Labour counter-offer that couldn't have been delivered anyway. Bravo.' - interesting way of looking at it.

Let's face it, LibLab could go soooooo pear-shaped.

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 16:00

According to BBC news, the Brown family cars are being loaded with "holdalls" - perhaps luggage?

thetoriesaretoast · 11/05/2010 15:59

Bags being loaded into cars around the back of Downing St. Gordon moving out?? Large holdalls - bodies of dissenting Labour MPs perhaps?

ImSoNotTelling · 11/05/2010 15:58

yo lefties

what's occuring

just had my dad ranting on at me (he is a lib dem) about how they need to make a deal now and he will leave if they do the deal with labour and AV is a great offer

I kept my mouth shut, know from experience it's best to let him get it off his chest

Beachcomber · 11/05/2010 15:58

I hope the LibDems step away for their own sake.

jenny60 · 11/05/2010 15:55

Tory Lib Dem coalition is our only hope now because we might at least get some form of electoral refrom and if they work ok, an example to the country that coalitions can work. A Lib-Lab pact would be too unstable and everyone would say 'see, this can't work'. The biggest losers here will be the Lib Dems. Cleg has handled this very, very badly.

Beachcomber · 11/05/2010 15:53

I'm enjoying the meerkats discussion a bit more now that I am not a lone voice suggesting that the lust for filthy lucre should not ride rough shod over democracy and the poor.

PMSL at riding the swingomoter.

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 15:52

I wanted to wait until I could see if it were going to go awry.

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 15:51

Yep, BBC now announcing that talks between Lab and Lib Dems are over.

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 15:51

Oh good. I'm glad about that.

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 15:50

I sent her a DM earlier, BIWI to let her know. I did not want to openly link it to her twitter page in case it got hijacked.

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 15:50

And BBC Laura saying:

No 10 sources recognise talks with the libs and labour are over and working out how to declare their side of the negotiation is at an end

So it's all over now....

.... and now it all begins!

jenny60 · 11/05/2010 15:50

I agree with you all

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 15:49

John Pienaar now saying it's 'perfectly apparent' that the Tory/Lib deal is the only one that Clegg is going to go for.

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 15:47

BTW - I wanted to link the 'goodbye to Gordon' thread on Twitter, but felt a bit funny about doing it. Not sure why.

But I felt it should be sent to Sarah. It would be good to know that she's had a chance to see it (always assuming she's not lurking here anyway!).

What do you all think?

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 11/05/2010 15:44

I laughed, Mme! Except no-one can hear you in cyberspace ...

David Cameron reported as having a 'broad smile' on his face. It would appear that a Con/Lib deal is going to be announced.

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 15:43

LOL BIWI

And nobody laughed at my Mum's massive faux pas earlier.

Am rather enjoying the meerkats discussion.

We are now discussing why Brown borrowed so much money, and what did he do with the cash.

How much money do you think that he spent on biscuits?

"Brilliant tweet from @uponnothing:

RT @JimboGunn: New coalition deal agreed: Centrists, Unionists, Nationalists & Tories will take power. Party short on alliance name... "

wubblybubbly · 11/05/2010 15:35

Fucking Falconer basically saying the lib dems should go with the tories.
