It is not about fairness.

Why should lib dems enter into a coalition with a party whose ideals and policies are not compatible with their own? That is not going to work.

They have to enter into a coalition with a party with whom they can govern. No use if they form a coalition and it breaks down because the two parties cannot work together.

If Labour had more seats than the Tories then as a Lib Dem voter, I would say go with them. The uncomfortable truth is that Labour has far fewer votes and seats than the Tories. They have no mandate, but it seems that they will cling on to power and disregard fairness.

I have lost all respect for NC if he joins this "Rainbow Coalition." What a mess.

Alot of people have had to endure a Labour government, I can't see people who support the conservatives bitching and complaining about Labour, I can, however, see alot of Labour supporters moaning about how terrible the Conservatives are without producing any evidence at all to support their claim other then to say that they are crap etc.

I am a conservative and proud to be one. I have not moaned since the Labour party took over so shut the hell up will you, it's pathetic.

British politics have outgrown the two party electoral system. That is the problem.

My point with the percentages was that no party has a majority, which was going to happen at some point as there are too many parties in UK to stick with the FPTP system.

Germany has PR and the government is formed by the 2 parties who together have the most votes and can work together to form a coalition.

Listen to the hard-line Labour hacks though - some of them would clearly rather go into opposition than face the thought of having to cooperate with the Nats. I don't think it's even about who's in power as much as everyone having to get their heads round what it might mean to have collaborative rather than confrontational politics.

Thing is that GB was even unelected by his party. TB 'formally handed over power' to him. Half the freaking LABOUR party weren't happy!

If the Labour party have a leadership election then that is fair, their new leader will be elected leader of the party who are 'in power'. It's a bit of a con though because Labour's only claim to power at the moment is that GB is the sitting PM and therefore has first dibs on forming a new Govt (which NC completely flushed down the pan...)

It is also in the countries best interest if the coalition parties have similar ideals and policies.

I'm not sure that extreme argument works thouh Fembear. Many people disapply basic beliefs when dealing with the BNP. When talking of the mainstream parties I consider my logic holds good.

I think Cameron should walk away from it all and let the Rainbow Twunts muddle on for another couple of months until they wreck the country so badly that they'll never be in office ever again.
