Predictions: what will happen?

Tory minority government...second election in autumn/early 2011...Milliband leader of Labour...Tory overall majority of 15-20...collapse of Liberal vote as new voters go back to Labour...Green MP loses seat...new administration sees pensioner cull rise from 30,000/yr back to levels of last Tory admin of 52,000/yr...gap between rich and poor continues to widen...increased prison population...unemployment to stay over 7pc for full term...extra tax incentives for multi-nationals...no new education regulation...13 year war in Afghanistan, Cameron flack jacket moments in Kabul...cuts in tax for high earners to promote growth...Liberals in wilderness for a generation...Tories lose next election in 2015-16 to Labour...no change in political system...

dh is brewing beer as we speak, I shall set up a still in my shed and start distilling our rhubarb.

I think Katla will blow up, leaving us under a dense dark cloud ash, our crops will fail and the market will collapse. We will have rolling blackouts and exponential inflation. We will all start rioting and looting. The pm will declare martial law and it will be the end of democracy forever.

Tories won't be able to form a permanent alliance with the LDs but will go with a minority government and LD support. Brown steps down but Labour promises to support the new government on key crisis management decisions - weakening LD hold on events. Electoral reform will be old news by about Friday when we've all had chance to absorb the true awfulness of the financial situation. Cameron will make a 'blood sweat and tears' speech urging us all to pull together without blubbing. Another election in the Autumn - if everyone hurting too much by then, disenchanted LD supporters will vote Labour back.

Or possibly something completely different
