Hiya

DP is causing a rumpus on fb. He is getting rather erm, het up, about the prospect of ConDem, and is losing friends at a rate of knots, but also getting secretive pms off Labour Party friends congratulating him on his language :D

We are keeping our LP posters up a while longer, just in case of more elections. Our house is getting funny looks now. We might as well have a red flag out front.

Ah well, at least the NE stayed nice and left. As if it would be anything else, we still have a pit winding gear up the road fgs.

Here you all are! Been a bit distracted by the mother of all dance shows this weekend, much more important than pesky general elections, but children have now piroutted their little hearts out and life can return to normal.
Lib Dem aide has been seen carrying pizza boxes into Parliament apparently, looks like they're not ready to give up and go home just yet.

Thanks for this. Good news on the COnLib deal being on then. Will obviously end in tears for one or the other. I wonder hether the LDs are simply out of cash so they would like to pause for a year or two to fill the piggy bank. Also, an election know would be polarise the vote between Lab and Con and squeeze them out.

Labour civil war would be bad news but no reason why it has to be protracted. Ed Balls is not electable. I like Harriet Harman but the press is so anti - her.

I guess it will be Miliban or Miliband. Ed is not so well known outside the party; David comes across like Blair without the Iraq sleaze.

Strikes me that DC's opposition will come from within if he goes ConLib. The old guard are waiting on his momemnt of weakness. Did someone say that the 1922 committee is meeting tmmrw?

Sorry for your losses, beachcomber and hungy.

I'm in my usual I-don't-know-ENOUGH state now. This always happens to me in political debate. So I've dug out Joseph Stiglitz' globalization book again - will try to finish it this time.

I always feel that my convictions need to be so much better supported by actual knowledge when I enter political debate. Literally not having the courage of them, I guess.

AppleTreeWick, (sorry rl got in the way), yes I think there is a problem with line managers, the ht has done as much as he can, afaik, but above him those layers of management - they are feckless bunch imho - they take the money. but seem to do sfa in return - we have a surplus of teachers, and dropping rolls here. The teacher in question has had all sorts of help, re training and reviews, but she is more interested in her business than her job - she is near to retirement age too, she is safe really. The HT is stuck with her, the school and children suffer, I know it is the union's job to support this teacher - just annoys me that the good things about unions means this teacher can get away with doing such a poor job.

Yes, it is a Sherlock Holmes story - I was reading it and feeling like a name change.
