Signing in - have only skimmed thread. Heard Dave just now - lots of hot air and no substance; if I were Nick Clegg I'd be mightily unimpressed. Essentially - "we'll compromise on things that were already in our manifesto, and have an enquiry on something that we won't allow to happen in the end".

What irks me is the way labour are getting all the blame for the economy - did they make American banks give dodgy loans? Did they also cause the Icelandic volcano?

I was getting nervous with the rumours before Cameron came on, saying Clegg was going to make a speech shortly after, luckily that seems unfounded!

I'm afraid you are. If they accept the offer of a formal coalition they won't be free to oppose the areas they have given up. That's why its worth it to Cameron.

Surely if the tories were in but with the lib dems, the lib dems could shackle their worst excesses. amd negotiate for a better deal before agreeing it?
