Hello

OP posts:
PollyTicks · 07/05/2010 15:16

I am flagging now - after going to bed at 1am and waking up again at 4.30am to watch the whole thing unfold - and getting cranky. Fucking Cameron. Bloody Clegg. etc

Amber Valley - lost to Conservatives (from Labour)

wubblybubbly · 07/05/2010 15:14

They type with one finger 'cos they're all ham fisted - boom, boom

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 15:14

I'd kind of like the Tories to take the blame for the hideousness of the next 4 years, but am quite scared about the number who will be hurt in the process.

That's why I am not completely against a lib-con coalition - it would mean that DC would have to shoulder the blame for the worst, while preventing him from squandering money on IHT cuts and (hopefully) protecting the poorest.

HamShine · 07/05/2010 15:14

May be best option is for LD to hold Tories to ransom over really key Lib issues - PR, etc - hold firm line and sit tight, watching Tories tear themselves apart. Unity under DC is not what it seems, I think.

ooh, I looked for the tories a short while ago and couldn't find them in active convos

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 15:12

The Anxious Tories are now posting about the fact that they have "ousted the lefties from discussions of the day". If that's the best thing they can find to celebrate...

Also pmsl that we are on the - what - 3rd? 4th? thread and they are still on number 1. Would it be very wrong of me to wonder if that's because Tory supporters are all one-finger typists?

[runs away]

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 07/05/2010 15:11

Have already tweeted, Mme!

HamShine · 07/05/2010 15:11

DH reckons Lib/Lab for the next term might pave the way for cons majority next time, as it's going to be a hard one, and anyone who does what needs to be done is going to be unpopular. Hmm. Did anyone hear the guy from the Swedish govt on the radio a little while ago, talking about when Sweden had austerity measures, etc? - everyone hated it, voted out govt, but it did work.

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 07/05/2010 15:10

LibDems hold St Ives

SpringHeeledJack · 07/05/2010 15:10

I'm quite missing Charles Kennedy

ImSoNotTelling · 07/05/2010 15:10

BBC reckons that NC will take offers to party tomorrow and they will be in no rush to decide what they're doing.

I can't stand the tension I just want an answer now.

CatIsSleepy · 07/05/2010 15:10

i wish I understood Twitter

auberginesrus · 07/05/2010 15:09

I am with Catissleepy, have nearly always voted libdem, precisely because of their stance on PR, the iraq war, trident etc so if they gave those things up to side with the Tories I could never vote for them again.

Surely NC couldn't take the risk of upsetting such a huge number of his MPs, members and voters?

CatIsSleepy · 07/05/2010 15:09

surely clegg can't fall for the whole 'enquiry into electoral reform' line
it's such a blatant fobbing-off exercise

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 07/05/2010 15:08

Who is on Twitter

#dontdoitclegg - can we get it trending?

SpringHeeledJack · 07/05/2010 15:08

Nick Clegg has locked himself in bog and refusing to come out

'If they accept the offer of a formal coalition they won't be free to oppose the areas they have given up.' yup that's why it would be such a travesty. clegg would be dave's bitch forever.
Oh, I wish Spitting Image was still on...
