If Clegg sides with the Tories I don't think I will be voting Lib again

Anyone got any thoughts on this. Hopefully it looks like he will side with Labour. But if he went Blue that would be it.

Of the realistic options, I'd much rather see solid lib-con than weak con-DUP or weak lib-lab/regionals

I don't think Clegg will abandon PR, he is Kingmaker here, he can have anything he wants (well his party can).

This is similar to what happened at last Irish election, Green Party were Kingmaker, went into power with their most hated party (Fianna Fail). But as a result had quite a strong influence on program of Government.

The Government has been stable, but Greens will probably be in the wilderness after the next election as a result.

Looks like DC will be PM, but Tories have no majority, so will have to seek support from other parties on everything. Labour and Lib Dems could stop a lot of Tory plans in their tracks.

Doesn't really matter if you never vot Lib again does it since nobody else bothered to vote for them hardly and really no-one ever does. The LibDem vote always collapses at the last minute.

Plus if you believe in LibDem's policies surely they have to favour Tory since they got a bigger mandate than Labour. A lot of LibDem credibility around constitutional issues would vanish if they side with Labour now and prop up a party with a lower public mandate.

FWIW I hope DC does not need the Libs - Cons/Libs are just too different and it would lead to nothing but trouble unless Conservtives can find a way to work with the Libs which does not mean compromising on any of the LibDem's economic policies.

Thedevilwearsprimark - the tories don't have an absolute majority so hopefully they will have to change their policies a little or otherwise face another election soon. Margaret Thatcher had a landslide and could do what she liked unopposed. I think it will be different this time. Lets hope so.

lib-con, if the libs can moderate the cuts, may be our best hope.

Those who want a lib/labour pact - this would not be democratic as the labour party have far fewer seats than the tories. It is not to do with whether lib dems are closer to tories or labour but more to do with Nick Clegg acknowledging the result and doing his best for the country.

If the labour party had more seats than the tories it would be different.
