Counters at Slough are having a busy night.

A press officer for Slough Borough Council explained that the counters for the area had been split into two groups with half there tonight and the other half not starting until tomorrow so they are fresh for the borough election count.

Therefore there are about 37 counters tonight who have had to verify both the general election and the borough election papers.

The count has yet to begin.

yes it keeps me awak as just as I'm starting find my eyes closing the numbers suddenly move around as it automatically updates and makes me jump

hadn't really noticed the UKIP names - but tbh I'm just kind of staring at the main results page of the BBC page with somewhat glazed eyes what the numbers move up and down

Dammit again, I see Labour held Edinburgh South with a tiny majority of 316. I had that lined up as a Lib Dem gain.

Poor DH is still stuck in the count being a journalist fuelled by caffeine. They hope to declare sometime soon. The tv doesn't work and they can only get internet at 56kbps so I am texting him updates.

I'm just praying that BNP doesn't creep up to 2% of overall vote (or higher) again......currently at 1.9% nationally
