which does seem to make a grand coalition for Labour/LD/Nationalists just about possible; otoh the Tories need to win ALL the 15 possibles to even think about forming a government with the unionists. Which won't happen, so IMO the next step is to try and negotiate with individual Labour and/or Lib Dem MPs to cross the floor and join the Tories.

If they do very well in the remaining seats, tempting 3 or 4 MPs to cross the floor could just do the trick.

hi all, I was too sleepy to stop up and talk. Just watching the maths on BBC news - slightly nervy about this. Even Lab/LibDem isn't enough, so they'd need SNP - who are talking about making a condition of their support that cuts don't hit Scotland - is that right? How much more screwed with those of us in England be if the cuts can't be spread throughout all the UK. Apparently they'll need PC in Wales too, I can see they'd need something similar...

hate to say it, but think another election to get a 'cleaner' result is the best option. (Really don't see a con/LibDem pack lasting more than 5 minutes, they are too different)

On the bright side, BNP didn't get any seats. Nasty, horrid, hatefuelled people.

I guess the SNP vote is more geographical though, whereas the BNP voters will be spread across the whole union.

wouldnt want it, but a lib/lab pact with a guarantee of electoral reform as a first priority would, for me be the best of a bad bunch.

I really really hope that the Lib Dems would not support a party that has lost so spectacularly. They must keep their integrity despite the disappointing result.

Of course the reality is I can't see a con-lib pact somehow. Mandleson's on radio 4 making very positive noises about electoral reform. I betcha the shadowy men are all on the phone to each other already and have been for hours.

So what outcome do we all want? A tory DUP coalition would be my personal ultimate nightmare a labour lib dem coalition quite appeals. Could cope with cons if osbourne not chancellor his inexperience is truly terrifying
