from wiki Lucas is the leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, and currently a Member of the European Parliament for the South East England region. Along with Jean Lambert she is one of two Green MEPs from the UK, a post she has held since 1999.[3]

mspotatochip · 07/05/2010 11:37

yes first green uk parliament seat, I think Caroline Lucas has been in Europe for a while. Iw onder is shes given that up?

Kaloki · 07/05/2010 11:34

Just woke up (reluctantly). Very pleased for the Green party, that's their first seat I believe?

Wondering what's happening next. Can't help thinking they'll be legal challenges with all the polling station problems.

mspotatochip · 07/05/2010 11:12

He is not "siding" with cons just pointing out that as the party with a) most seats and b) greatest share of vote they should get first chance to form a government in the nations best interests. Man talks sense as usual. I voted Lib dem and would never ever vote conservative but I see why they are doing this.

kitcat1977 · 07/05/2010 11:12

I'm beginning to wish I'd made a tactical Labour vote for that reason, cw.

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 11:11

Looks like that's what he's edging toward.

kitcat1977 · 07/05/2010 11:07

He wasn't that explicit.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 11:05

Ooops - All those people who voted Lib Dem and did'nt want Conservative.

This will damage Lib Dem's long term if he does that I think

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 11:03

Clegg

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 10:48

Clegg: Is he saying he will want powersshare with Conservatives? Only just back in and turned T.V on

mspotatochip · 07/05/2010 10:45

clegg sticking with let the cons have a go at forming gov first in national interest

BeenBeta · 07/05/2010 10:22

Yes there is an announcement due form Clegg at 10.30. He aid he will talk to Cameron first. Cameron is resting apparently. Gordon is in Downing St - I genuinley think that will not be for long though and Cameron will be installed as PM. I just cannot see the Privy Council, Civil Service and The Crown allowing this to drag on.

Just listenng to a Govt Gilts trader in the City he said the UK has until Monday morning to get this sorted out otherwise the financial markets will deliver a swift and severe judgement.

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 10:20

Labour's Foreign Secretary David Miliband tweets: Just woken up to hear someone on the BBC saying I was talking to Vince Cable. Nonsense! I've been having a kip!

What has NC got to say? "Hi, my party has not done too well, but neither has anyone else's so hey, I'm at the end of the phone"

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 10:13

Is Nick Clegg saying something at 10:30? Is Gordon Brown still asleep? I suppose someone will wake him up.

flowerybeanbag · 07/05/2010 09:57

hello

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 09:56

They do occasionally let me out of Employment, yes

Frantically busy at the moment though so it's rare to see me hanging round elsewhere just now, you are lucky, a rare sighting of the lesser-spotted flowery

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 09:46

I have started a thread in Good Housekeeping (wasn't sure where to stick it as I'm sure there'll be politics talk in it too, and some people have work/children stuff to do rather than housework) if anyone wants to join me over there as well to plod through the day

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 09:43

We have officially reached a Hung Parliament now.

iamfabregasted · 07/05/2010 09:39

kitten - that sounds like a good plan lol

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 09:38

no, I reckon we could snooze through the weekend and not miss out on anything vital now.

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 09:35

I went to bed at 3:45 and woke up at 6:45. Took children to school. DD only at school until 11:30 so will need to get her and friend then.

Nothing is going to get sorted for ages is it?
