Cartoose · 07/05/2010 17:18

"blimey exit polls got the exact right number of tory seats!"

Really? That's amazing!

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 17:16

\link{http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/election2010/council/html/3892.stm\yep here you go
they had 12 seats there previously -

updated council results on a national basis - are showing they still have 12 councillors nationally but have LOST 22 seats so far

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 17:05

that is good news

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 17:03

yes- just seen in Barking and Dagenham (according to Hope not Hate - BBC being rather slow updating the local reults - guess they're still going all out on the well hung parliament

Labour 51
BNP 0

for the local council

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 16:58

tories Secret. 24,000 I think to Lib Dems 22,000 (could be wrong on numbers

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 16:53

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 16:35

pretty close that one.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 16:33

devon west havent declared yet have they?

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:39

Lancaster - Tory GAIN by 333.

Final tally:

Conservatives: 307
Labour: 258
Lib Dems: 57

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 15:37

OhMyGoodness. Dimbleby is STILL there!

ASecretLemonadeDrinkerDAVE · 07/05/2010 15:33

Thanks. And pants.

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:31

Dudley North - Labour HOLD by 700 votes

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:24

Dudley North was apparently close but Labour were winning but the count had got cocked up with Tory votes in the UKIP pile, so the Tories requested a recount.

ASecretLemonadeDrinkerDAVE · 07/05/2010 15:21

why is dudley north having a recount?

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:20

Remaining seats:

Lancaster - marginal
Dudley North - marginal
Thirsk & Malton - Tory
Devon West - Tory

A clean sweep of the remainder is still possible for the Tories, giving them between 306 and 308 seats. Labour between 257 and 259, and Lib Dems 57.

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:16

Tories GAIN Morecambe

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:14

Tories GAIN Amber Valley, with a 500 vote majority.

ASecretLemonadeDrinkerDAVE · 07/05/2010 15:14

Phew, another for us

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 15:10

LDs hold St Ives, but Tories ran them close.

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 14:30

So remaining seats:

Amber Valley - Tory/Labour, reputedly Tory
Devon West - Tory
Dudley North - Labour/Tory
Fermanagh - SF/Unionist
Hackney North - Labour
Hackney South - Labour
Lancaster & Fleetwd - Labour/Tory
Morecambe - Labour/Tory
Penrith - Tory
St Ives - Tory/LD
Thirsk & Malton - Tory

=
Labour 2
Tories 3
SF/Unionist 1
Marginals - 5

Tories - 304-309
Labour - 257-261
LD - 56-57

I'm assuming the final result will be:
C: 305
Labour: 260
LD: 57

caramelwaffle - "why in earth vote for BNP over SNP; are people crazy?"

I think it was the relative votes (555,852 so far for BNP across whole UK, 491,386 for SNP). Don't forget, caramelwaffle that the SNP doesn't have candidates elsewhere.

It is still pretty depressing, given the BNP's historic views, but it was a comment merely that there happened to be more votes overall, not that they were votes within Scotland in excess of those votes for the SNP.
