about VC

thumbwitch · 07/05/2010 06:17

Oh jolly good, Vince Cable has not only held his seat, he has increased his share of the vote a touch. Shame Richmond Park has gone back to the Tories though.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 06:07

dup thread here

nighbynight · 07/05/2010 06:03

Labour have held Hammersmith I see. I hope they hold Finchley as well. Camerons blatant attempts to steamroller in from central office, candidates who he thought would "appeal" to voters didnt fool everyone, obviously.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 06:02

good morning all - though I see that perhaps its not..... where are we at?

and mmore importantly how much sleep have you had? (me sneaky nap at 12:30ishish and then 3am-5:45)

nighbynight · 07/05/2010 06:00

first ever Green MP at Westminster.

MrJustAbout · 07/05/2010 05:11

Did I hear right - were the first words in Hazel Blears' speech "fly my pretties"?

thumbwitch · 07/05/2010 05:01

I bet! Seems as though lots of people were really really angry, understandably. Very bad management by the looks of it.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 04:45

Thumbwitch - Yes. Not me; a family member.

The Icelandic Volcano blew it's top. my relative was/is worse. She is rather miffed

veselaliberalka · 07/05/2010 04:44

did you see that? LDs held Sutton and Cheam. No Philippa Stroud.

veselaliberalka · 07/05/2010 04:44

take that, Philippa!

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 04:38

crikey, just checking in from Australia to see what the result is and it isn't! Seems like a bit of a mess so far... haven't read the previous threads but did anyone on MN miss out on voting because of poor polling station practice?

veselaliberalka · 07/05/2010 04:35

I need to go to bed - it's 5.30 here. Can't tear myself away from the awfulness, though. Did they officially announce Islington S yet?

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 04:35

looks like greens have won in Brighton...

Hung Parliament anyone (?)

kickassangel · 07/05/2010 04:31

good, thought so. but been busy this eve & missed some bits.
so tempted to stay up & keep listening, but no-one round here will be sympathetic if we're tired tomorrow (in the US)

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 04:31

UKIP had no chance.

BNP only have a realistic chance to win in Barking, and they've lost there it seems

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 04:27

One things clear, the Tories WON'T have a big majority. A tiny majority is still possible though...
