Where would you LIKE to see cuts made?

I recognise that people are going to vote for certain parties because if another party gets in they might lose some benefit/possibly jobs etc. Or because they have a deep-seated hatred of one side, for whatever reason.

But (and you can correct me, I know very little about politics) the country is in debt and some cuts have to be made, regardless of who makes them.

So where would you be prepared to see cuts being made?

The thing is, none of this is the level of pain we need.

CTFs. Absolutely, scap em. But we need some big things on the scale of Trident too.

I know the old saying it 'look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves', but we're going to need to find a hell of a lot of pennies if we don't start flagging some big ticket items.

and yes, Tax Credits to be cut past 50k

HIP grant abolished, CTF abolished and Child Benefit to be cut for any household earning over 50k, also for it not to be paid out to immigrants who work here yet maintain children in their home country.

agree with the child trust fund great idea but alot of people i know can't afford to pay into it. Stoping tax credits over 50k, increase taxes, i would make sure that fuel allowances were paid in vouchers not cash as i know many younger pensioners who use it to go on holiday and others who just bank it as they only use a calor gas fire anyway.Theres also a maternity grant that id cut which is fairly new.

End tax relief on things like pensions and childcare vouchers for higher tax payers - it's frankly insane!

Tax credits for higher earners should be slowly reduced.

Higher tax rate for those earning over £55k

Higher rate of inheritance tax on property/estates worth more than 1m.

Make the super rich pay for NHS treatment.

Actually impose fines for littering/dog fouling etc instead of just saying you will.

I agree with LFC - inheritance just maintains the inequalities in our society. Why should I get a big chunk of money if my parents get hit by a bus? I don't deserve/need it any more than my friends with less weathly parents.

Obviously different rules should apply when there are financial dependents involved.

Agree with Laurie no one needs more than that.We have lost the big picture and are obsessed with what we have amassed and hanging onto it

Really? God, I would emigrate if I'd managed to work my arse off and it was going to be taken away from my kids to go back into the kitty.

Don't let people inherit more than 50 grand - rest to go back to society
