** Official MN Election Night Thread - let's hold hands and wait together **

Just starting this so that we can all post our thoughts throughout the day.

My wish for today is that as many people as possible GO OUT AND VOTE.

I cannot vote as I have been living abroad for over 15 years so if anyone wants to vote for me, I would like to vote for Gordon Brown. Voting by MN proxy

Hello all, I'm watching alone as DH is at the count in the town hall and I am surrounded by the detritus of the committee room that took over our house for the day.

Ooh, Dan Snow on the telly, I well fancy him. Can't believe Peter Snow isn't doing the swingometer...

I have Crunchy Nut cornflakes and cups of decaff tea to bring to the party. Oh the joys of pregnancy...

According to BBC website somewhere in the south west is a Lib Dem hold. No announcement though and can't work out how to see individual result.

BBC reporter Danny Carpenter in York says hundreds of postal ballots have gone missing in the city. The problems are being blamed on a printing error and a temporary closure at the local postal sorting office. In York Outer, the Lib Dems had a notional majority of just 203, meaning the missing votes could have a significant impact and pave the way for a losing party to challenge tonight's result in the courts.
