Watch out folks, you heard it here first. My husband is a senior economist and is seriously seriously worried about what's about to happen. We need to do all we can to avert a major economical disaster. GB has got us here, do not let him take us further into crisis.

I don't agree with rioting personally...although I can understand how therapeutic it is for some...

I'm a lover not a fighter..

Plus you end up paying more tax to fund the clear up...

We only have rhubarbs in our garden yet. How will we protect ourselves?

Dollytwat · 06/05/2010 11:31

good job we aren't all armed with assualt rifles then eh DP

scaryteacher · 06/05/2010 10:59

It's the EU wot said it, the Torygraph is just reporting it. The rest of the PIIGS are looking shaky too.

slipperthief · 06/05/2010 10:58

Cauliflowers it is then. Glad that's sorted.

daftpunk · 06/05/2010 10:56

Rioters aren't usually the cool, calm, rational type who are happy to sit and wait 2 yrs for economic recovery to kick in.....they will see their benefits cut to zero...that's all they need to get started....look at the poll tax riots..?

It was all about money...and money people didn't want to pay because it was unfair, which of course it was....people will suffer because of something that started in America..and a few other economic decisions they probably won't understand...like GB selling all our gold

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 06/05/2010 10:55

It's alright, we're sorted. You can get purple cauliflowers, job done with those I reckon. Bert on my allotment grows cauliflowers so they must be OK.

slipperthief · 06/05/2010 10:51

Tell you what though, it would add a lovely spot of colour if lobbed after being steamed to death. Will have to ask a lawyer next time I meet one.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 06/05/2010 10:45

It's not very hard Slipperthief, I don't think it would even take out a UKIP sign. But I was wondering whether lobbing aubergines is assault with a deadly vegetable, maybe Purple sprouting broccoli would be looked upon more leniently in court ?

slipperthief · 06/05/2010 10:42

There must be some purple British veg we could throw. Purple sprouting Broccili?

ahundredtimes · 06/05/2010 10:40

No, ST the whole point is that our debt is mature. Hang on, this link explains it better sensible talk

Also, the eurozone will want to encourage growth in the £, they need one strong currency. Cameron will contract it immediately, there will be no growth and high unemployment. Now, that might start a riot.

Thanks for the link ST...

I think we are in for a riot...

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 06/05/2010 10:31

Yes, could have been BNP, we'd have been even more aubergine purple about that, but not much. Will still be stocking up on feta, I hear it's cheap in Lidl.

slipperthief · 06/05/2010 10:28

Ooh, are we off rioting? Happy to roll up my sleeves and and lend a hand. Quite like greenhouses though so can I put my name down to plough up a golf course or two instead please?

scaryteacher · 06/05/2010 10:28

The man who sells Spanish olives and Greek tzatziki at the local market said no problems with the Spanish, but was having problems with the Greeks, they have no tzatziki; I pointed out they don't have much of an economy either.

daftpunk · 06/05/2010 10:23

Er. no..we have our own rioters...

Whoever gets in will wack tax rates up and cut benefits to pay off massive debt..people will think..."why am I suffering because of the American sub-prime mortgage market "

One person will throw something at a building, and 1000 people follow him..

bluecardi · 06/05/2010 10:17

They going to let all them rioters into the country then? Roll up Roll up Get yer free feta cheese...

daftpunk · 06/05/2010 10:12

Oh...lololol

I can see why you'd be annoyed then..

Although UKIP aren't that bad actually...

katiepotatie · 06/05/2010 10:11

FFS!

Hullygully · 06/05/2010 10:07

Oh fuck off you mad arse.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 06/05/2010 10:03

It's not in my garden, it's in her garden but no one can tell where mine ends and hers starts as it's not obvious. It's on the hedge of the front garden bit and we're all hidden behind the hedge which is about 10 feet tall.

DH told me two weeks ago it was up and I said not too worry, no one will think it is us. How flipping wrong I was and am utterly when they sheepishly admitted yesterday they thought it was ours.

What followed was mad activity by DH and I involving a fence post, string, pins, colour printer and plastic wallet with DD looking on with a worried look on her face that her parents were madder than she had previously thought
