Who is your MP? What is your prediction?

Mine was Mohammed Sarwar (Labour) who's standing down with a fabulous record for most expenses claimed in the House of Commons but pretty dismal voting record and a record of zero replies to a variety of questions/requests from me over the last few years. Good riddance.

Will probably be his son, Anas Sarwar, taking over his father's hefty majority(also Labour). I'm a bit but I've met him and he seemed nice...

The SNP & LibDems massively reduced the Labour majority in the European Elections, but I don't think that means anything given that about 3 of us voted.

KurriKurri, thank you for that link. It tells me that the notional 2005 result in my (new) constituency would have been this:

Conservative 43.8%
Labour 29.7%
Liberal Democrat 20.1%
Others 6.4%

Probably worth sticking with labour then. I wish I had some way of knowing how many labour voters will be going over to the lib dems this time!

PinkFuschia - I would be stunned if Luton South went Tory but it's not beyond possibility.

feetheart - Hello neighbour. I'm hopeful for the Lib Dems too Qurban Hussain has does well for the council. I love Joe Hall's enthusiasm too though.

Liam Fox - safe Tory seat for years, but that doesn't stop me waiting up half the night watching the telly just in case.

StrictlyKatty- I had been considering him. I really think we need to send a message to Westminster that it is not acceptable for the constituents of the speaker to not be given a choice.

Labour and he will get back in as won some fancy MP award (goodness knwos how, worse than useless IMO- nationally am not anti Labour but this man- er yes)

Due to the boundary change I can't remember its a Sir Someone,I did get a leaflet and have seen him gurning in fields its a safe Tory seat so they've not really bothered.Tory boy will romp home.

I don't really think anyone is worthy of my vote so will probably spoil.

I love a good map - and seeing as where I live there will be a comfortable Tory majority, incumbent MP embroiled in both expenses and personal scandal it's much more interesting to see what's going to happen in other constituencies

Edward Leigh-Conservative been in since 1977- wouldn't know him if I fell over him.
We dsid get an election leaflet ,which told us not much more thasn he has 6 children ,is a barrister and is a pro life campaigner.
Not a word about policy

Peter Lilley, Conservative. About as safe as they come.

James Gray, Conservative here (N Wilts). It's supposed to be a very safe conservative seat but what with his expenses and the way he allegedly treated his wife not sure how safe it will be.

Twofalls and Azazello - I'm also in Evan Harris constituency. Don't you think it'll go against him that he has one of the worst records in parliament for replying to letters from his constituents?

I wrote to him last year and was ignored, but after an elderly neighbour wrote to him 6 times and was ignored, on a very important matter, I phoned his office on the neighbour's behalf. The girl I spoke to said "Don't hold your breath for a reply replied, he's got 4 boxes full of mail here, which he hasn't even opened" When I asked how to get hold of him if he didn't open mail, she said "He likes to communicate via twitter"

For this reason, (I voted Labour in 1997 and then was living abroad so haven't voted for a while) I'm voting for Nicola Greenwood. I think her campaign has been organised and responsive, which hopefully means she is both those things. Incidentally I've had numerous things through from the Tories, only 2 from LibDem (and those both very negative rather than selling themselves).

Luton South here so haven't had an MP for nearly a year since Margaret Moran got caught with her nose in the trough (£22,500 for damp-proofing a house in Southampton in case you weren't sure )
Labour will never get my vote here again as NO-ONE stood up to say she was wrong.

LibDems are v active locally and I hope they get in as I'm not sure I could bear a 4 yr Esther Randson media love-in

Threestars - we're in the same constituency, Gammon faced Tory here too. Think we've had a total of about 3 leaflets through the door, not a sniff of an actual candidate.

We have John Bercow. Tory. He is the speaker so the main parties don't stand against him. SO we can either vote for him or a list of independents. Democracy. I don't think so!!!!!! Having said that this is a VERY conservative area so I'm sure the others wouldn't have stood a chance anyway!!!

John Redwood (Con) Pretty solid majority, it's the Lib Dems 57th target seat. Prue Bray the Lib Dem candidate is a local councillor and really active in the community. We only see John Redwood when there's some jolly on. Couldn't bring myself to vote for him even if I was that way inclined, as he was Welsh Secretary when I lived in Swansea and still haven't recovered from his terrible 'miming' of the Welsh national anthem (cringe!)
