Oh God - Im a Tory!

Try this link - a questionnaire on major policies. Lets you consider the policies rather than the parties or politicians then shows which party is the closest match to your personal views.

You can opt to look at only 4 areas - I went for all 9 to get a full overview. Only took about 10 mins but has made me think!!!

Turns out I should vote Tory or Green. Always thought I was LD - but did not turn up once!

Hmm, the greens top that poll - would summise that site is owned by them (e.g. BNP right at the bottom of the options). Let that be a lesson on not trusting shit sites to give advice. Time a few on here learned to get a grip and it's a pity so many thickos, going off the stats at the site, have the right to vote.

Very interesting site. In some cases I found it really hard to choose though, as there was one policy amongst a certain set that jumped out at me as either totally unacceptable where the rest seemed appealing, or one policy I hated amongst a bunch I pretty much agree with.

I won't be voting green, but it's interesting food for thought. I'm a bit surprised none of the Tory policies appealed, but overall it's the general balance I would have expected.

I'm suspicious about this survey - the results for Green results seem surprisingly strong.

Maybe I'm just cynical but it would be so easy for the creators to cherry-pick stronger or weaker policy points to highlight. How many of us bothered to look at all policy points on each theme? I know I didn't...

My results also came out quite differently to another 'who should I vote for' survey (not that I trust this one either as it was in the Torygraph!)

I am mainly Green and some Labour. I thought I was a LibDem with a touch of Conservative. Just shows what I know.

Crystal, that's not true - the Green Party is concerned with the reasons for immigration - removing the causes for immigration.

I have found this website absolutely fascinating, thankyou. When I did all of them I came out conservative for over half. I have always voted conservative. I quite thought I would have been more UKIP. I was surprised to have voted labour for crime and Libdem twice. It proves what a difficult matter politics is.

crystal123 I don't think the Green Party is a non-party - it just depends what your priorities as a voter are. I won't be voting for them either but if was not for the economy I think alot of the parties would be focussing more on their green agenda, however most people are not too bothered about the future of the planet when they don't feel their jobs, pensions and the state of education and health services are not secure!

Dear Cadders, I think you will find the Greens are a non-party. Their policy on immigration according to the PPC for Finchley and Golders Green is "If they have got the Bxxlks to get here then they can stay! How can anyone take them seriously?

UKIP 77% !!!!!!!!!! with a hint of Tory and Green.
But although I agree with UKIP policies I think that their politicians are a bunch of nutters!
Relieved not to have been LibDem, Labour or BNP though.

Oh, how weird - I've always been a labour voter but am increasingly disenchanted with them... and I didn't pick a single one of their policies!

So it turns out I should vote Green, with LD for Welfare and Education.

(the scary thing is that I voted Tory for the ecomony...waaah!)

TheHeathenOfSuburbia, gosh no of course it isn't just manifestos. In fact, the party I vote for and will vote for again is not the one that came out as the majority in that test. I vote for the party I do for the reasons you described. I don't actually like a couple of their policies but am honest enough to admit that my ideals are probably not what's best anyway.

Manifest policies are the tip of the iceberg.
