So who is actually going to VOTE Lib Dem then?

Because I reckon if everyone who says they agree most with the Lib Dems actually voted for them, they'd have a real chance. So how about it?

I will vote Lib Dem for the first time in this election. I am just so sick of the two 'main' parties spending all their time squabbling and sniping at each other. The Lib Dems seem to have some genuinely new ideas, and I think the whole system needs shaking up.

I am - I was before the debate. I think our Lib Dem PPC, who has been a local councillor for years is the best option and may take the seat from the current Labour MP this time.

I'm glad that the debate has made people think of them as a serious option, but am concerned about people forgetting (in all three cases) that we don't have a President. It's great if people 'agree with Nick!' but we still have to vote for local MPs as well as considering the party the PPC belongs to.

I will.

Dyed-in-the-wool labour voter all my life, and even the grass is red where I live.

I just can't vote for either of the other two though.

An ITV/Com res poll has just come out showing the Lib Dems on 35%.

LAB24% - LIB 35% - CON 36%

4000 people, no more details as yet.

I'm voting LibDem for the first time.

Where I live LibDem and the Tories are neck and neck, there is no chance of Labour getting in here so my vote in the past has been a waste. I am voting LibDem mainly to stop the Tories getting in.

I'm voting LibDem, even though i live in a safe tory seat. my parents live in a safe lib dem seat and have always voted libdem too.

I am voting Lib Dem - never have before but Nick Clegg has totally won my vote after last night and our local Lib Dem candidate is excellent. It probably won't make a difference in my very safe Labour constituency but I hope it cuts the majority down, they need a shake

I have NO idea who to vote for. I want to vote labour and all things being equal I would. But I live in a newly formed constituency that is comprised of part of a lib dem seat and part of a seat fought closely by labour/cons. If it would prevent a tory majority, I'd vote either lab or libdem but cannot fathom how the votes might fall.

Me - And even if they don't win I don't think it's a wasted vote anymore as they've made so much ground that all votes will help them into a stronger position next time round and it strenghthens the case for PR in future.

I am in North Dorset so one of the Lib Dem target seats. I am voting Lib Dem as is dp. I have always voted Labour, been a party activist in fact.

We live in a very safe Tory seat so my vote matters little. I am Lib Dem by inclination and so will probably vote for them. They did come second last time but need over a 20% swing to oust the current MP. Not going to happen...

Just checked - although we're adjacent to some of the areas with BNP/UKIP, we've got Con/Lab/Lib/Green. Solidly con (~50% for years) though the old MP is going and the new con candidate is a Scot which may diminish his slice (not saying it should!)

So it probably matters not what I vote, which at least means I don't have to be tactical.

Then again I may vote Conservative.

These are the Lib Dems' most winnable seats, although some of them are probably being targetted harder than others.

(the reason Solihull is at the top although it actually is currently LD is because of boundary changes that make it notionally Conservative, although still very marginal).

TrillianAstra, I think the Lib Dems are in second place in just under half the constituencies.

(Either just under half or just over half -can't remember which).

Surely someone must have the stats on what % of seats go to a party that was not in second place last time around?

I'm voting Lib Dem, our candidate is a scientist who DP actually had cause to go and listen when he was giving a seminar. I've never thought that there should be fewer scientists in parliament.
