Find out how powerful your vote is compared to the UK average

I live in a safe seat, my vote is worthless.

0.009 of a vote - whoopdedoo

Ultra safe conservative seat.

The average voter has 25 times more voting power than I do....

HinnyPet · 09/04/2010 22:35

Mumofmonsters I think we live in same place

feedthegoat · 09/04/2010 22:27

0.031. Ultra safe labour seat.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/04/2010 22:25

Marginal 81 out of whatever it is, my vot is worh about 2.5 times.

FrozenFlowers · 09/04/2010 22:18

0.583 - marginal. #101 out of 650.

It's Labour at the moment and could turn Lib Dem. My vote will probably end up wasted as I'm probably going to vote SNP, although I'm not entirely decided yet.

Nice to be in a marginal though - my mum's constituency in Liverpool (where I lived last time round) is ultra safe, and ranks as #632 out of 650!

Granny23 · 09/04/2010 22:16

Wigglybeezer - 'Granny, you must be in the same constituency as me! I feel powerful, my vote is 3.25 X more important than average.'

I hope you are going to use your power wisely! Are you in the O or the P part of the constituency?

safe onservative seat.

huge constituency population wise. more people live in tory seats - it is possible for the conservatives to get more votes and still lose. c'est la vie.

this was liberal once, but i think labour has wooed some of them over...

0.831, very marginal, and only that low as it is very big. Though funnily enough the Lib Dems have had the seat since 1992, but the Tories are close on their heels, which is why I am voting Lib Dem this year!

smugmumofboys · 09/04/2010 18:59

Also, it says that my constituency is Tory. It isn't. The local MP is Labour and has been for ages.

Double

glittery · 09/04/2010 18:55

voter power of 0.004
rank #642 out of 650!

animula · 09/04/2010 18:55

Cool website. Makes me long for PR though.

smugmumofboys · 09/04/2010 18:54

Hmmm. Very safe apparently, but not according to the Indie election pull-out which said that ours was one of the clincher seats as incumbent Labour MP is retiring. Also, Tory candidate came a-calling and told DH that it's not that safe.

fridayschild · 09/04/2010 18:48

So this website tells me I am in an ultra-safe seat. When in fact I am in the Lib Dem seat in London most likely to go Tory, because my MP has a small majority and the Tory candidate is a billionaire who has spent £0.25m of his own money trying to buy the seat. If only he was not a tax exile, maybe his millions could have been used to pay taxes to help the local hospital he bangs on about so much....

lotster · 09/04/2010 18:38

Tis a cool site.

My constituency ranks #23 out of 650 constituencies in the Voter Power Index, and I have 3.59 times the average voting power.

toolly · 09/04/2010 18:37

As I suspected. I have a homeopathic vote index

said · 09/04/2010 18:30

Mine says it's Fairly Safe. So why do George Osborne, and this morning David Cameron, keep writing to both of us? F OFF

said · 09/04/2010 18:24

I have 1.69x more voting power than the UK average.

TinaSparkles · 09/04/2010 18:20

Um, this says I live in an Ultra Safe Labour seat. The Lib Dems won in a by-election 4 years ago.

wigglybeezer · 09/04/2010 18:05

Granny, you must be in the same constituency as me! I feel powerful, my vote is 3.25 X more important than average.

TheCrackFox · 09/04/2010 17:56

According to the website a donkey wearing a red rosette could get elected where I live. Bollocks.
