Find out how powerful your vote is compared to the UK average

I live in a safe seat, my vote is worthless.

Marginal constituency. I quite like my local MP, not so sure about her party's policies though. I have just found out that there is a UKIP candidate from a local well know food shop owner.

fernie3 · 05/05/2010 14:35

oh thats 0.798 votes

fernie3 · 05/05/2010 14:34

mine is "very marginal" aparently 3.16x more voting power than the UK average.

southlundon · 05/05/2010 14:31

Oricella you beat my 0.014 of a vote! I thought I'd be in the safest - boo

ProfessorLaytonIsMyProxyVoter · 05/05/2010 14:29

.679, 2.69 times more than average and #71 out of 650 constituencies.

Do you think I could make them dance for my vote?

Mermaidspam · 05/05/2010 13:59

0.003 here

3cutedarlings · 05/05/2010 13:40

Hmm well my vote stands for nothing!!! 650/650 other voters in the UK have 100x more voting power! so should i just not bother?

Ultra save labour seat - which im actually quite surprised about i thought the lib dems would have done much better here.....

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/05/2010 13:28

4.01x more voting power than the UK average

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/05/2010 13:27

ooh we are no 10 out of 650

Bramshott · 05/05/2010 13:22

I think there might have been boundary changes in Gloucester GOML - there was some mention of it on the website. I guess large swathes of Glos are solid Tory territory!

As an aside - can I interest you in a free family concert I'm organising in Highnam on 23rd May?!?

lostinwales · 05/05/2010 13:15

4.1x more power than the average vote! Wow, we are ranked no6 and are very marginal, not that I wasn't going to vote anyway but I shall now be going round instructing everyone that it is their DUTY! (prob going to be v unpopular after school today!)

Pogleswood · 05/05/2010 12:59

524 out of 650,vote power 0.044 - another Tory safe seat here!
I would love to live in a marginal,I have always voted but I've always lived in a safe seat,it is beginning to frustrate me that my vote is effectively worthless...

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 05/05/2010 12:58

walkthedinosaur · 05/05/2010 12:55

I'm in a very marginal seat where we have 3.99x more voting power than the UK average.

lilmissmummy · 05/05/2010 12:48

Ultra safe Tory seat with 0.0047% vote. We rank 513 out 450 in the voter power index.

off to check my family results! Really interesting.

OtterInaSkoda · 05/05/2010 12:45

Ooooh. I have much power.

Everyone should be verrrrry nice to me.

Mwah ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa!

3.97x more voting power than the UK average

GetOrfMoiLand · 05/05/2010 12:38

Thanks very much Bramshott.

I really thought we were more marginal than that tbh. The conservatives have been really bullish here.

eandh · 05/05/2010 12:37

mine is ultra safe (makes sense as one party arent even bothering to stand here) however the party that is ultra safe is not one I would choose to vote for (makes sense why that partys leader hasnt been touting for votes here)

Bramshott · 05/05/2010 12:36

Interesting site - I thought we were an irredeemably safe Tory seat round here, but we only come up as "fairly safe".

Gloucester is the same GOML - Fairly safe - 0.226.

GetOrfMoiLand · 05/05/2010 12:33

Can someone do me a favour?

I am at work at the mo (not working very much, I leave here in 3 weeks so have nothing to do, so am just mumsnetting all day) but can't access that site. Please can someone look at Gloucester for me, I thought it was pretty marginal but apparently it is not as marginal as I thought.

Ta muchly

democraticqueen · 05/05/2010 12:31

christ we live in a very safe seat and my vote is practically worthless. 48.14% of voters (including me) voted labour in 2005 33.13% tory 14.08% libdem and 4.64% ukip.

ClaireDeLoon · 05/05/2010 12:29

OK I don't feel quite as bad about my crappy 0.067 of a vote now as I put my parents in and they get 0.002 of a vote each. Still they could vote tactically together and get a whopping 0.004 between them.

ClaireDeLoon · 05/05/2010 12:25

0.067 of a vote. Ranked 460 out of 650 for voter power.

OrmRenewed · 05/05/2010 12:24

Great ! But not surprising. Tory safe seat - always has been and I suspect always will be.

ohmeohmy · 05/05/2010 12:21

sooooo depressing. fairly worthless vote. this can't be right.
